Hi. I wasn't sure where to post this, because there are few things on my mind here that would take probably couple of different posts, but I believe is having to do with this particular one. Is it what we see now happening in the world having to do with Luke 21:11
" And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. "
And yes, we are speaking about the corona virus as one of these pestilences. My intention now is not to put anyone in panic. We are just considering what is going on.
This probably is not the end yet, but it looks like things are getting closer. And when we say that Jesus is coming soon it doesn't mean either that He will come tomorrow and when we see that He doesn't come tomorrow, then we change our mind and we lose hope in this promise. This is not the right attitude. We need to remember that God measures the time differently than how we do. Many times we've been inpatient conserning this promise. That's the reason why we see people coming up with dates about His coming, etc. . What we clearly see that slowly, but surely the word of God is getting accomplished in front of us. Some people say that rapture or the blessed hope that the Christians are waiting for is going to take place after the great tribulation, others say that will happen before. ( I am not opening a discussion, I am just stating this ) Which is the time that we are living now in? Well, we don't know exactly, but anyone of these might be, we see that the word of God is taking a place. It looks like it won't be an easy time. There are somethings on the horizon that show this. We obviously always hope for things to get better, but we need to know that Jesus warns us that there will be hard times. And what we need to do is to hold on more than ever on God's promises and live deeper into the faith. So the question is: where do we put our hope? Am I being watchful in this as the word of God tells me in Matthew 24:42-44
" Watch therefore for you do not know what hour Your Lord is coming. "
I am recently living in Italy in a region called Piemonte and we are pretty close to another region called Lombardia where the nest of this corona virus is. As some of you probably heard about the infection of corona virus started here the end of the last week. We are living in a Cristian community here and our main place is in Lombardia close to some of the heavily infected zones here. We are traveling at least ones or twice per week there. ( and this doesn't make us heroes, it is just part of our duties ). So there are two ways, or two extremes that we can take this matter into. One is to be heavily panicked, and I don't think we need to take it in this way, because God doesn't give us a spirit of fear. At the end He always helps us to get out of that fear zone. And the other way is to take this one as another influence or just another virus with the simptoms of cold. I don't believe either that this is the way. All of this needs to make us think and consider the word of God, the coming tribulation? and the times we are living in. All of this just to let us grow in Him. I'm this time with so many comforts and things we see this world is offering, we see that the only true hope we find in Him. Something I heard about China is that some people have started to inquire and turn to Jesus, because they don't know, they don't see anything else solid enough in the times they are living in.
Even if they do find a solution for this virus ( and I really hope things get better ) we still see that His word is clear and warns us. It is being accomplished. Please pray for us here the will of God to be accomplished. That people here in Italy and other places can look up to Him for hope and that He can protect us for His purposes and glory.
