Will you be watching?

I am surprised that some people will not even watch the funeral on television, from the comfort of home after being given a day off work.
I will certainly be watching. It is the most important pivotal event of our times.

Why watch it?
As an American, I don't care what happens over there. What happens here is more important than elsewhere. Pretty sure our ancestors didn't care either.
Does the world mourn when an American President dies? No. At most they're in for 8 years vs others.
There are many ways to better use of one's time.

That is a pity, for you. Our Queen's state funeral will be an amazing occasion. I find it hard to believe anyone's heart can be so closed and hard to not sit and watch. The pageantry and ceremony of Britain is unique. Ours is a great Royal family despite all the challenges they have faced. The Queen remained dignified despite all things.
I hope you change your mind.

It's not a "pity".
Different culture and given where you are at the only Royalty of any respect is Jesus.
I never met her and therefore am not invested in her life. Sure, one some level she did a lot of good over time from what we can learn but eventually she'll be another page in history.
I'll never bow to any person on this planet.
If anything, you should be worried about Charles and his fat fingers b/c those are a sign of a few health problems that could cut his "reign" short. Diabetes and Heart Failure to name a few.

People are bowing to the Queen because that is why you do to respect the dead. Also. she was a Christian, never hesitated to name Jesus as her Lord.

Show me the law and commandment where every dead person let alone a Christian who's died must be "respected" let alone time out of my day to "mourn" for a foreign leader.
Wow. Countless people have "never hesitated to name Jesus as their Lord." She's not special. She's just another now-dead monarch. I haven't mourned for any U.S. President.
Their culture. Their beliefs. Their customs. Not ours.

If we "mourn" someone because it's a requirement, or a law.. then is it really mourning?
Mourning someone should be from the heart. Because we loved them, because we miss them. Because we hurt for them.
I hope when someone we love dies, we can still have a heart to mourn for them.

@B-A-C
I'm only going to mourn those I care about. Those I have a vested relationship with. I don't expect anyone else to mourn for me.
However, on some level as fellow Christians we should on some level or am I wrong?
Getting out of work or something for someone you don't know? No.

Greetings,

I recall times in the time of the Old Testament when people were 'ordered' to mourn and fast and likewise but I get your point

@MedicBravo

Greetings,

that is rather presumptuous of you.
Please don't be so hasty.

Are you able to tell us what it says?

Bless you ....><>
Then type in English.
It's easy to tell you can read, write, type, and speak it.
Usually when someone who does responds in another language they have something to hide or are making an insult. It's how 99% of foreigners who can't speak much English are in America.
Back to the topic, An American and Christian shouldn't give a minute thought of her or any "monarch/royal" dying. The ONLY King I care to give my time to is Jesus. He doesn't see us differently.
On a factual and historical level, it is significant. Who knows how things are going to go with a King in the British country?
I know there was some ceremony about him being named King but his coronation whenever that is will be another factual and historical event. By that it is worth watching as it's an important part of British and world history.

@MedicBravo

Greetings again,

Then type in English.
may i ask why?

When you write concerning the English Queen, who recently set sail, it comes across as someone who has this idea that what is 'English' has nothing to do with you. (I could be mistaken but it certainly comes across as such), so I thought i should write to you in the language of the country you abide in... as you seemed to want to dissociate from English.

Sometimes us [h]umans like to take what we like and spit out the rest.
Have you ever considered how endangered the English language is? Much like the language of the aboriginal of America. Such a wee minority as is the Caucasian pale face.
Let us not speak with forked tongue.
==============
The message I shared with you is from the Bible, addressed to Timothy.

I have yet to see anyone here type in another language in any quantity until now.
I'm an American. I don't care, largely, what goes on over there. My family came from England and as they preferred to take a big risk and come here then America is my home and priority.
I haven't watched any funeral for our leaders here so WHY could I waste my time? There are far more important things in and to America and Americans.

Greetings again MedicBravo
I'm an American.

I thought you were Christian, having joined a Christian forum.

For your information, i often share in other tongues.
The passage i shared with you was not that long.

If you look at your replies to me, thus far, as others do, you might notice you have not inquired as to what it is that was shared with you but seem to prefer to justify your self, somewhat.

Please try to understand also that you were not expressly asked for your opinion on this thread and that the fellow Member who began this thread has done so because it is something of some care or another to them. You 'barging in' with 'I don't care' is not very polite or kind.
Please consider this.

You are entitled as the next person to your opinion... but, what are our entitlements under God ?

I haven't watched any funeral for our leaders here so WHY could I waste my time?
Why then, may I ask, even waste your time commenting on something that others might not consider to be a waste of time?
Sometimes we can [and should] keep our little opinions to ourselves. I say little because, honestly, how big and mighty are we, really?

There are far more important things in and to America and Americans.
like speaking English, for example?

By that it is worth watching as it's an important part of British and world history.
But the Queen dying and the consequent funeral that many world leaders attended isn't?

Please advise me [and all others] when was the last time as many world leaders and representatives gathered together in a time of prayer.

Please try to communicate as a Christian Brother first and then, if you have to, add some worldly Americana to it or any other flavour that you choose, but please also take my advice and stick with the conversation fit for Heaven, seasoned with salt and reciprocating the gift of grace as a good steward.

Bless you ....><>

I am a Christian and that's not the topic.
99% of the world's "leaders" have shown they do not care about us. If you knew the Bible well especially Revelation you'd know they and most will turn on us. MOST will not go to Heaven and MOST will gladly walk into Hell while giving God the finger.
If you new about the NWO and WEF you'd know they aren't Christians. They fake it and only the ignorant and those a part of it act like they are.
Pelosi and Biden are not Catholic.
I'm not wasting my time. One of many great things about America is freedom of expression regardless who's "feelings" get hurt. She's buried and I'm sure the mourning time will be over soon. Pretty sure the country moving forward is far more priority.
I remember Diana's death and funeral. It was in papers, magazines, etc. People bought and gobbled up everything related to it like some kind of idol worship.
I remember SpaceX and the return to space exploration and research. That benefits all of us not one country monarch's death.
Reminder: Fruits (acts) speak far more than "I am this. I am that." Those "leaders"....their actions do not add up to their fruits. Bad tree = bad fruit.

I'm an American.
Reminder: Fruits (acts) speak far more than "I am this. I am that."
yes

Greetings once more @MedicBravo

Who, may I ask, is responsible for the leaders of any and all countries?

And getting back to my post which was in a pre english speaking tongue of what is known as America, what is our [or should be our] attitude to those 'leaders' ?

Bless you ....><>

We don't have the same type of government or leaders.
The King is merely a figurehead and has some power but nowhere near what it used to.
The House of Commons and House of Lords are who runs most of the country. Is that going to change now they have a king who's showing signs of diabetes and heart problems? Those swollen fingers say a lot.
It's tradition. America doesn't parade dead Presidents like Britain does and likely others.
Many have more insight than most. I have family that works in a major airport and regardless of where he/she is landing they know the flight, takeoff, and destination. It was a nightmare when Muslim lover Obama came to our state.
America would be better of isolated for the foreseeable future until all of our problems are fixed.
There was no reason for you to type like that.
For America, they are our representatives and only the President is our leader. We have military leaders and advisors. When a Representative doesn't "represent" then they have failed their job. Voting out failures and these evil people won't work.
As, I always state, there is a solution to almost any problem.

Greetings @MedicBravo

One of many great things about America is freedom of expression regardless who's "feelings" get hurt
is that the Christian attitude we should be displaying for the world, who are perishing, to witness?

Are not Christians belonging to another country; strangers and pilgrims?

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: but as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

And if ye call on the Father, Who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, who by Him do believe in God, that raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
1Peter 1:13-21
