Evening Ya'll.
Generic forgiveness post - You'll have to forgive me but presently this is my only outlet for my forgiveness musings (something I hope to change in the near future).
People tell me I'm too wrapped up in this forgiveness malarkey. I probably do use the term a bit too flippantly, as contested a subject as it is. I'm not trying to be pious I just wanna tell the world how this most unpopular weapon helped me move from being a victim of injustice and my own misdeeds to somebody who is in control of their destiny for the first time in a long time. I shall forever advocate for forgiveness as a means of self-help as it stopped me from going from wrong to wrong like a rat in a fu*kin' cage. I mean, i still make mistakes but how lesser mistakes they are. One tricky attribute of forgiveness that it's not a single punctual act. You may forgive one day then feel angry and resentful the next.
In order to forgive you must first have been on the receiving end of some injustice, a great wrong or hurt of some sort. As humans we're hard wired to react to a wrong in kind. That is to repeat what the other has done to us. This, however, creates a vicious cycle. There's no truer statement than violence begets violence for example.
And before Ya'll suggest that this once hard man has gone soft bellied on ya'll please don't confuse my kindness for weakness. You can do anything around a sleeping elephant until he wakes.
