What are "energies"

This may not be the best category to post this, but I am missing a forum category that would talk about spiritual issues that are not Christian or biblical (I think it would be useful to have it - not as proposing them but rather for discernment and understanding from a Christian view).
My concern is, how can it be explained that some people are able to see or perceive so called spiritual energies? I know the Bible doesn't talk about this because probably the authors didn't encounter this phenomena but we can't deny that it exists. So how can it be explained? What made me wonder about this is that I found out about one of these persons, Teal Scott. Unfortunately from seeing a video of her I found her very fascinating although her philosophy is not compatible with Christianity.
Why do these things happen and why are there so many distractions from the Christian path... and why are they so attractive and seem so beautiful and captivating and rich and colorful compared to plain basic Christianity? It's very very hard for me to not fall for the esoteric temptations!

Satan can present himself as an angel of light. He can produce beautiful seductive things. Satan and demons are able to show and tell things beyond human capabilities. If, as you said, something is not compatible with the christian faith, avoid it, stay away, RUN!

Not all Spiritual Power is negative. But I agree with RevBrad, make sure you can discern between the two.

Luke 24:49 "And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."

2 Tim 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

One thing to keep in mind, this isn't OUR power. It's Gods.
2 Cor 12:9 And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

Also despite Hollywood's portrayal of demons and evil spirits. I can tell you that when the Spirit of God enters a room, The evil spirits are the ones who can't flee fast enough.

I agree this post has very little to do with health and fitness, but perhaps Spiritual fitness? (ok maybe I'm stretching it)
I am reminded of the current reality television shows about ghosts and the paranormal.
For some reason some people are fascinated by this, but as for me, even if any of it is real, why would you go looking for it?

But how would you explain the existence of the people who have these abilities spontaneously already since childhood (like the one I mentioned)? It's not uncommon that they have them since an early age when they are way to young to have any belief system already (so they have no way of knowing that it's something bad).

Children are not immune from demons anymore than adults.

I understand what you are talking about. I feel it falls into the category of one MUST be gifted with this in order to believe that it is a gift from God. I am not going into the scripture debate of what this is or what this isn't. It is what it is. If one has not been gifted in this area there is no way they will even begin to understand this "taboo" that we speak of. All things are from God, including the ability(s) that you have mentioned. People do not realize that this is just "something" they have the ability to do and it is easier to say it is of the Devil or you are going to hell for "seeking" these things out. I have to do a LOL here because it is not something that one "seeks". It is what it is with no seeking necessary. I believe that any God fearing person with this ability gives God the credit. However when these people start charging others to share the gift they have received, this is where I start to have problems with them.

Yes since childhood a child han be opreesed with demons just like an adult can, these are demonic things that are luring you, it is tempting and EVIL

I respect your thoughts on this topic. However once again I will say as I said earlier. I will not get into a scripture debate over this. There are so many that have this gift it cannot be denied nor can it be said that it is evil. Different and odd perhaps to those that do not understand. God knows the hearts of all, they do not need to please man.

Dutch is right about one thing. Either it's from God or it's from Satan. Those are the only two type of spiritual energy there is. Good spirits don't usually go around manifesting themselves for no reason.

You are correct. In no way did I mean that God created Evil. I am sorry you perceived it this way.
