I was attending a bible college, but things didn't work out and i couldn't do go to the required meetings to become ordained there.
And i thought that i could possibly go through my pastor but currently most of the church is wanting me to leave for quitting the school and honestly not being at the same level of on fire for God as i was when i left for college and now i am working on getting back there. But this is something i was just wondering.
I'm not interested in becoming ordained online unless God tells me t hat is what he wants me to do.
But i just wanted some options that are out there to pray on.
Thanks in advance,
Quenton
Ordaination differs from church to church, and from one denomination to another. Ordination from some internet place is usually unethical, and few will accept it with much creditability. Education requirements and degree requirements vary from not much the a Master of Divinity degree. But by far the most imporant thing is your personal testimony and your service that the local church wees and can attest to.
Generally a person is Licensed to The Gospel Ministry for a period of time before ordaination. Ordaination generally has a questioning by a group of elders and deacon's This can also require a paper of the Doctrines of your church or denimotion, which is your own research in your own words with Scripture to back it up. Believe me these mebers of the ordaination oard can spot if tere statements are your or copied from sometheology Book. This meeing can take as much as 4 hours, or as little as a few minuets.
I was in one denomination and went to another one. The stricter one was very difficult and the more relaxed denomination far quick and easy. I seldom ever use the Rev. with my name, unless I am dealing with a cause or some place that requires it. I believe that to call someone Father or Reverend is rather saying look and respect me because my Rev says I am holy and lnow the Bible more than you. The Rev. does not impress me very much when I see it used anong other believers like TJ.
Being ordained is very special, it says I am a bond servant to Jesus Christ. There is an emotional high, that the church believes you have the call of God on you, and have proven worthy of our aith in you. Then there is the obligation to the Lord, that is a very heavy responsibility that I have found to be a heavy load at times. The Bible says not many of are called to be preachers, and there is a huge weight of ,keeping your life free from the loveof money, lust, and having a walk with the Lord, that you serve as an example. In all honesty all of us have failed after being being ordained. We need Jesus and His love, forgivenss, and acceptance, and guidness. I would not rush into ordination unlss your church see's that you are called. This seems to be an area you might need to work hard on. Perhaps move you membership somewhers else and begin all new and allow the new people to evaluate you as you are now, an leave the past in the past. Pray earnestly for the Lord to direct your path in this regaurd/ But by all means stay away from these fly by inight ordaination papers in the mail, is is worth just what you put in it. There is no short cut in being ordained as far as I believe. Blessings.
