What Brings Satan Pleasure?

1. When men of God abandon the preaching of the gospel to become "would be politicians" consumed with the political affairs of men

2. When the preaching of God's Word is substituted with relational anecdotal experience, personal happiness programs, and human potentiality makeovers

3. When pastors no longer shepherd God's people and the pulpits have become playgrounds

4. When psychology has replaced biblical discipleship

5. When men of God are flattered to become "late night talk show guests" on cultural and spiritual issues, but never once call the nation, other guests, or the talk show host to repentance by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation; they've simply become culturally acceptable biblical motivational speakers thinking that access to mainstream media means they are making an impact

6. When the vicar of Rome is acknowledged as the vicar of Christ

7. When sin is called sickness; when disobedience is called disease; and when adultery is called addiction

8. When money becomes a prerequisite for ministry by charging people for the gospel, worship, discipleship, counseling, evangelism, Christian music, etc.

9. When we are liked by all people; when the world is not offended by the message we represent and relates to us for being "nice"

10. When church becomes just another predictable program we do one hour a week, one day a week

11. When prayer becomes passé and the seldom thing we do

12. When brothers and sisters hold ought against each other in bitterness and unforgiveness

13. When church discipline of sin ceases

14. When irreconcilable differences becomes an acceptable reason to break the covenant of marriage

15. When the goal of faith is no longer holiness, but happiness

16. When the object of faith is no longer Christ, but self

17. When the foundation of faith is no longer the Scriptures, but my personal experience

18. When error is tolerated and finally accepted as truth

19. When Christians partner with nonbelievers in the work of the ministry

20. When ministries are enticed to give up their autonomy and become owned by the world for just a little more money and a little more personal promotion

21. When the worship and glory of God is treated as entertainment

22. When the church bowes the knee to the seminaries and surrenders her duty to train men for pastoral ministry; thinking that the academic schools of religious learning actually can make a pastor when all they can do is make students

23. When men can personally profit from the sale of God's Word

24. When repentance is no longer part of the gospel

25. When salvation is no longer by grace alone, through faith alone, because of Christ alone, on the Word alone, to the glory of God alone

26. When Romanism, Mormonism, Jehovah Witnesses, Church of Christ (Bostonian), Seventh Day Adventists (and dare I say but to be consistent I must) Islamic moralists, Atheists, Gay/Lesbian couples who are against abortion; Pro-abortionists who are against homosexuality/lesbianism; pro gay/pro abortionists who are against euthanaisa and death by Schiavo starvation; etc. (you can see where this is going when the principle of cobelligerence is taken to its logical and absurd conclusion) are indirectly legitimized as being "morally sound and culturally chaste" by some naïve evangelical leaders who have forgotten their heritage, sold their spiritual birthright, and have laid down sound doctrine for the sole purpose of partnering with those same "religious" and individually politically-correct alliances to turn back the tide of social ills through cultural cobelligerence; they have divorced the centrality of the gospel from their burden for social change--this is foolish and the delight of hell

27. When the offense of the cross is removed

yeah some things you said were right on, but most i found to be rather vague, also really ou can only quote what is in the bible, the whole mass media thing... yeah that;s not really in there. you didn't really use spacifics on most of them and it more seemed like this is what "you" don't like not what god doesn't like... all in all a pretty bad list in esance, i have to say.

but number 26.... that was the worst of all. all you did in that one was diss every other denomination but your own. Diss other religions and other peoples views, and what other people think becuase it differed from your own views. no that was stupid and down right mean. you spoke in # 26 about socaily acceptable and how you blame the leaders for these things being so. Well you just have to come to terms that not every one is the same and not every one is like you. Being gay and being pro abortionist IS in out soceity and culture, acceptable like it or not. but there is a HUGE differnace between culturaly accpetable and religously acceptable.

Are you born again Gothic Wisper? Do you believe homosexuallity is ok because it is accepted by society?
Do you really believe what peanut stated above is not reality? Maybe, you need a reality check.

LOL! Yes Gothic, "there is a HUGE differnace between culturaly acceptable and religously acceptable." ...and if you read a little more attentively, the article Peanut posted made reference to, but is not about either.

And you are also right, "being gay and being pro abortionist IS in our soceity and culture, and acceptable like it or not", BUT these, among many other ungodly and evil practices society and culture accepts are NOT acceptable to God (like it or not)

In a way i agree with gothic about number 26.When you write a statement like that and only include some groups and not others it is bound to get peoples backs up.Many of us here come from some of the denominations you mentioned and lists like that dont accomplish anything other than making us feel bad.You didnt mention baptists or pentecostals many of whom arent in agreement with each other. This is a non-denominational site and thats the way it should stay.It was an excellent list and very true though.

No matter what you could mention it all boils down to one thing:

Disobedience to the Holy Spirit or the Word of God .

All I have to say is that I really found your post interesting Peanut. Ty very much for posting it, very thought provoking. See I look at it like this the Word of God is a sword and well sometimes people get cut. Meaning... Not everything the Bible says is very "nice" But it's truth and well thats were the "cut" comes in. I pray that makes sense. Joyfully ~ Jlu

Absolutely. When a group of Supreme Court Justices say that the 10 commandments must be removed from city buildings, or that prayer must be removed from school, or people say the 1st amendment doesn't protect religion it prohibits the government from promoting religion. We as Christians get upset, angry, mad. Why? We hold the teachings of Christ to be truth, and they do not. Not only that, but they wish to stop us from believing in Christ, or practicing Christianity.
Similarly, when you tell a homosexual (or any sinner, habitual or not) that he/she is wrong, and you wish to stop them from practicing what THEY feel is rite, or true, they get upset, angry, mad. When confronted with the TRUTH of the word, if you are not a believer, then yes it cuts like a sword.

Also for Peanut to list ALL the groups of people who don't walk in the TRUTH, or are against the teachings of Christ would take hours and hours, and hours. It's just not practical. The list in #26 is understood by us all to be representative of many peoples, religions, denominations, governments, societies, etc. That is what is so great about being covered by the blood of Christ and having the Holy Spirit to guide and teach you. Many things are being reveled to us brothers and sisters. Things that non-believers just can't see. Or won't see. The entire book of Revelations was written in a manner that would allow a believer to understand, but a non-believer to dismiss as mumbo-jumbo. This is not a mistake. The Lord our God has good reason for this. Which will one day be reveled to me as a believer. :thumbs_up
Jesus taught in parables when he was in the midsts of non-believers, and his disciples asked him why he did this. Do you remember?
Quiz: Find the verses that I am referring to!

God bless you all,
Nigh

The religions listed on #26 are all manmade. There is only one true religion and his name is Jesus Christ.

Great response Sparky . Jesus is the reason we are here at all . Last I heard , Jesus had no denominational record other than ...The Christ .

What Brings Satan Pleasure?

Anything that brings Christians displeasure.

Anything that delays or prevents people from being saved.

Anything that angers GOD.

Is this the verse you are talking about?

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: -
Matthew 13:13-14

How about all the denominations and the fact mansy denominations look down on others if they dont do it their way when in fact so long as they have the same biblical basis who cares
