Luke 7:25,Matt 11:8 But what did you expect to see? I have been in much prayer today, for many here. This question from Jesus came because what they expected, they did not see.For what or who is a real King?
One expected,or one not expected? But yet our King Jesus wants us to expect! But for one to do this, they must learn what this word truly means. "Father, as I speak your words onto your people I ask for your wisdom, grant this I pray to your Glory and honor amen!" What do you expect from the Lord?
Where are your eyes focused at,or upon? I to had to learn the hard way brothers and sisters! I never expected anything, and that is just what i received. If fact, if anything bad could happen to me,I had the faith to believe it would happen, and it usually did.
Now a New creature in Christ,I have different expectations. YES and so should you all!( philippians 4:8) tells us think upon these things, and the purpose of doing this is found in verse 9. For to dwell upon these things raises what we expect, and in turn gives us what we so much need.
Some look for things which they can not use, just wanting to have as much, if not more then there fellow brother and sister living next to them. But what we need to expect is to draw closer and closer to our living Lord Jesus.( matt 6:33)
By seeking the Kingdom of God,we seek the Lord himself, and by doing this,we know from his very Word what we can expect! ( matt 6:19-24) The world looks to things it can feel, and touch,we look unto things which can give life to our selfs as well as others through the very action taken.
For do we not reap what we sow? If we sow love, can we not expect this back? some 30, 50, and 100 fold? yes we can! What we want,is what we should do. For by doing, we can expect,in this life, as well as the next to come. The lesson we learn here, does not just stay here, but goes wherever we go. It has to.It is now part of Jesus in us.
A baby can only expect what the child can see, being so low,the child sees so little. When we were children we were this way.( 1 Cor 13:11) We could be this way, because we never learned how to expect more then we were given.
But as we age,we find, that staying this low,we receive low as well. And our needs have become greater, then even our wants. To expect greater things,we must climb to a higher level then we are. We learn by doing this,or by growing in this.We also find that even being at a greater height,we can never stay here to long.
A cloud appears, we become somewhat blinded by it.Now we either need to climb higher then that cloud,or be content with both where we are,and what we have. Most are content. This is not always bad. but what is always bad,is being content with where we are in the Lord.
We can always grow, and to do this we must move forward in HIM. A light can only be seen, by how high that light become to us.( matt 5:14-16) In the end of our race,we end up at the top of that HILL!!( 1 cor 9:23-27) We are all at different levels of our faith, some are higher in there walk then others, but not better then others!
If we are higher, then we are expected to help get those brothers and sister to at least the same height as we presently are in Jesus. That is what Jesus always did to his disciples. This is what Jesus expects us to do as well. For to follow is to always do something. How do I learn how to expect?
You learn this brothers and sister by always looking at the good of another rather then the bad. To expect good things to happen to you! Not bad! So many have more faith in what is bad then what is good?WHY?? because like me,you have to learn how and what to expect.
Many brothers and sisters are going through much right now. Sometimes the problem is a big as if a mountain were right in front of them, and they just cannot get around it.Enter our faith!( mark 11:23-26!!) The Word brings expected results! That is why we put our very faith in the Living Word! Faith expects. Love fuels this faith, and hope( assurance hope) gives us what we expect from our words!
Words spoken are what we expect! My brother needed a job,I prayed for him to receive one,if I believed in what i prayed, then I expect him to have what i prayed for. After an interview,I told him we are going out to celebrate his new job. he said but mark,i did not get the job,she said I will call you back for another interview if needed.
I said Peter,we are going out to celebrate your new job. As we went to a nice resturant to celebrate, his phone rang,he said I have to take this call, please find us a table. Long story, short a man he had worked for many years ago gave him a job on the spot!
He came back all pale. i said what is wrong?? he said I just got a job!! I told him peter I am not surprised I expected it. Now you can learn how to expect good things as well.
We used to pray like throwing darts at a dart board hopeing perhaps one of the darts would stick. Not anymore! For what purpose is there to pray for something you cannot expect? Sorry a little longer then I wanted! LOL But i hope you see the point as well as the purpose for this message.
To get you to expect for good things now!! Not bad things! To have hope, and to be able to give this same hope to others! that is Jesus in us,and that is us because through HIM we are at the top of the hill, just like Jesus expected us to be with him!! amen!
