Holloween started with worship of the god of the dead samhain and the attempt to apease druid priest people would dress up like the evil dpirits in order not to be consumed

Different cultures view Holloween differently ,but traditional Halloween practices remain the same.

Let me ask; are you wiccan?

Halloween has, like certain other holiday, become more of a marketing holiday, and more a novelty for children. Keep in mind these are only costumes, and in no way do these children worship the dead

I do not celebrate Halloween nor plan on it when we (my husband and I) have children.

Why celebrate a day where death is celebrated?

It matters not that children dress up, etc.

There is a huge amount of history to Halloween. Like...the 'trick or treat' saying...:-S

It truly sickens me to see how it is practiced, and 'okay' and marketed.

Let me ask; are you wiccan?

What kind of question is that? Why would a Wican seek out a Christian forum?

But then, God IS good.

Perhaps His way of leading another soul to find out the Truth that IS Him?

Praise His Holy name!

Halloween to those who revel in the dark side is a time when the division of our world and their world is the least. Many use this time to further "bond" with demonic forces they have been "working" with by various rituals and by inviting those dark forces to full embodiment as a "thanks" and as a way for the dark to "enjoy" whatever debasement they can think to inflict on any innocent beings.
On the opposite spectrum Halloween is a time of dressing up, getting free treats and acting like fools. Commercialized, profitable, shameful.
If only the majority of populace were able to see the true nature behind this blasted "holiday"..

Ive never liked Halloween myself. Being scared and pranked is not my idea of 'fun'. Getting candy from strangers would scare me, and I'd be afraid to eat the candy. My little cousin got a piece that had razorblades in it, and that was the last time he went trick or treating, and he said he wished he listened to me when I warned him :P
It also seems like the devil's holiday to me. Christmas is my favorite holiday, obviously because of God. I have no desire to celebrate Satan
