So tell me, is it more important who you know or what you know? Perhaps it's both. Maybe it's most important to know what you know about who you know? God has promised to give us, "The light of the knowledge of His glory, which is found in Jesus Christ." (2 Cor 4:6) Thousands of years ago God promised, "The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." (Hab 2:14) In opposition to this promise, Paul teaches that Satan has, "Blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Cor 4:4) So you see, it's very important who you know - Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Yet it's also important what you know about Him - filled with the knowledge of His will. The Bible goes on to teach that much of the spiritual warfare going on around us is actually a battle for our minds. We are commanded to, "Pull down strongholds, cast down arguments, and remove every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of God." (2 Cor 10:5) Peter promised that, "Everything we need to live a godly life comes through our accurate knowledge of Jesus Christ." (2 Pet 1:3)
I pray the same prayer for you that Paul prayed for the Christians in Ephesus. "I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His vast strength." God be with you all...
