What do you see when you look outside?
Do you see squirrels trying to hide?
Do you see birds flying in the air,
As though they have not got any care?
Do you see grass growing in the yard?
Do you see water flowing not from far?
Do you see clouds rising in the sky?
Do you see bushes housing butterflies?
Or do you see pain and sorrow, life now dead?
Do you envision what now lies ahead?
Do you see buildings burning, death in store?
Do you weep over this, this scene abhor?
Do you see politicians lie through teeth?
Do you see professing Christians live beneath?
What’s your view now of the world you see?
Do you see people now in harmony?
What’s your perspective of the world about?
Does it cause questions for you, so you doubt?
Do you wonder ‘bout to tomorrow, what ‘twill bring?
Are you far left in thinking, or right-wing?
Joy in what God created, there’s no doubt,
Hurts to see it destructed, flood or drought.
Painful to see so many lose their homes,
Painful to see so many from God roam.
Life is full of joys, but sorrows, too,
Future so uncertain, painful, too,
What tomorrow brings, we do not know,
But our God is sovereign, He does show.
With your circumstances trust Him now.
Leave your sins behind you, to Him bow.
Obey His commandments, do His will.
He’ll give peace within you, just be still.
