What does it mean to have an eternal perspective?

What does it mean to have an eternal perspective? I am asking this because I understand that we all will be judged one day and I'm afraid I will be judged badly. I say that because I judge to many people. Basically I just think it and don't say it. I also know that we get judged everything that we say.

For example I was yelling at the pharmacy the other day over the phone and I know I will be judged for that. But I don't understand is what it means to have an eternal perspective on this.

So what does it mean to have an eternal perspective?

I have never heard that term before but I like it.
It reminds me that there is a difference between true and truth.

Jesus said he was the truth.Jesus is also the Lamb of God who was slain before the foundation of the world.

Example:
"I judge to many people".
That would be a true statement based on an opinion.
So it is true that you feel that you judge to many people but it's not the truth.

The truth is Jesus and he is eternal non-changing,non-negotiable truth.
So to find out the truth about you we should consult the truth.

Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Romans 8:37 is an eternal truth.Someone might say it wasn't true until Jesus went to the cross and that would be true but it would not be truth. The truth never changes and the truth is that the Lamb of God was slain from the foundation of the world so the ability to conquer is and was always available through him that loved us.

Here is another truth from an eternal perspective:
1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

It may not be true that you and I are just like Jesus in this world but it is the truth. So we can agree with our intellect and five senses which are subject to time and change or we can enforce the truth in this temporary place. It may be true that I am a sinner but that is not the truth. The truth is:
1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

The truth does acknowledge that which is true and changeable but I don't see this verse as speaking of eternal truth.
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

For example I was yelling at the pharmacy the other day over the phone and I know I will be judged for that.
If they deserved it then you are just addressing a true problem.
If they did not deserve it then you can pray that another truth be manifested and that is:
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Whether they deserved it or not this verse should be applied to everything all the time.
If you were to say "I am

Peace

1John 4:17-19 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgement; as He is; so also are we in this world. 18. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. 19. We love. because He first loved us.

Take your Bible and look back at the concordance and look at times "love" is mentioned. Read soome from the NT. I think this might open your eyes to the LOVE of God and have a better ballanced understanding of judgement and love.

Can you point out what you think is unbalanced about my understanding of LOVE and judgement?
I was giving my opinion on what I thought of when I consider the term"eternal perspective".

From an eternal perspective judgement was dealt with before the foundation of the world.
The Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world because:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Eternal perspective. If I may. Here is how I look at this. As there are two sides to every coin, there are also two realms of most everything. Example, good and bad,Light and darkness, temporary and eternal. The perspective part is that view from the eternal side of things to me. ( 2 Cor 4:18) Now the question is, do I keep this simple?Or get really deep?

Let us go into deeper waters here. For the question asked is deep, and not always so simple. There is flesh, and to many people there is Spirit. But the Spirit I speak about is not that of Holy Spirit, but rather the eternal realm! The Supernatural!

In this realm all things are eternal, that is what we look to hit at,when we pray.To get a chance to see just what it holds for us,as well as for others we care about. It is not a crystal ball,it is as one is stepping through a mirror unto the other side of it. What we see in the mirror is dim.( 1 Cor 13:12) because what we see with our eyes is only temporary, tomorrow you may grow a mustache of a beard.A woman may do her hair differently as well.

So what we see, can change,as we ourselves change to that mirror. The eternal perspective is that which we cannot see, that which lies on the other side.On that other side is both light and darkness, good and evil, love, and pain.

All these things come together to form what is everlasting or eternal. The longer we spend in that realm, the more knowledge we have. And with this knowledge through Holy Spirit in us,he teaches us how to stay more and more in the eternal perspective,or LOVE!( 1 john 2:27)

For Love which is the eternal nature of Jesus cannot, nor will ever change, and that is just what he wants to give to us for others!! Eternal Perspective or LOVE! To be honest.Without this love, the nature many never wish to learn about,is just the nature we need to take to enter the other side of the mirror we look at.

It is not love of self, but rather a real hunger to understand our true Lord Jesus, and to understand this,we must partake of him daily in our lives.( His Word)OR!! As the Word itself says the more excellent way!( 1 Cor 12:31)Then chapter 13 the Love chapter. A chapter which can give us true eternal perspective.

I wish to thank you for this topic,I was going to talk about something like this in a few days, but thought you asked such a fine question I thought I might share my view on this to you all here as well. I thought I would go a little deep here,i hope many do not mind. But the question was in deep water to me as well.So I figured the answer should be. Blessing to you all!

Hey Brighthouse.

You stated the following,

For Love which is the eternal nature of Jesus cannot, nor will ever change, and
that is just what he wants to give to us for others!! Eternal Perspective or LOVE!
To be honest.Without this love, the nature many never wish to learn about,is just
the nature we need to take to enter the other side of the mirror we look at.

That was very, very good. Sometimes you excel Brighthouse.

my eternal perspective is one day i will die but thats not the end of it all.

2Co_4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

I fear God. especially judgement from Him. My comfort in that is when I am judged and God asks me well what about this... i can point to Jesus Christ and say he paid for that sin. on judgment day i will be doing a lot of pointing too. thats my perspective on that. I simply believe the bible which says Jesus Christ was the sacrificial lamb that takes away my/our sin.
as far as perspectives we dont know everything. the bible even says we know and prophesy in part. but i do know what God says in his word about "fire insurance"
God honors his word. Believe on The Lord Jesus Christ.

Hello eddieb

You said,

God asks me well what about this... i can point to Jesus Christ and say he paid for that sin.
on judgment day i will be doing a lot of pointing too. thats my perspective on that

That is fantastic, so true, I will be doing the same eddieb.

Evidence of Jesus working in our modern daily lives is to stay relaxed, knowing that our minds are not perfect, and how Jesus forgives us each time we do something unexpectedly out of anger.
Jesus is both a doctor and psychiatrist as he keeps our minds and bodies at peace and in good health. Sinful or painful memories can be healed over time.
Quality time verses quantity of awards or rewards. Jesus does not judge us by the quantity or amount of awards or rewards gained during our short lives on Earth.
He judges us by the quality time we spend with him in knowing the bible and how we love to be with our perfect Christ so much, especially how we want to socialize with other Christian brothers and sisters of Christ since we are one union with Christ as one giant family of God, such as worshipping our Lord Jesus in our Christian churches around the world.
Always thinking about Jesus our giant peace of Christ that's far greater than human peace.
:lightbulb
We Christians in our global community wait patiently for the coming of our victorious Lord Jesus, hopefully very soon in the future, so that Satan can be defeated and sin can be deleted once Jesus has transformed our old earth-born selves to new glorious minds and bodies of Christ...
As we socialize together as brothers and sisters of Christ in God's most massive and most modern place of Community: the Kingdom of God on a new oceanless planet Earth where Christ's supernatural joy will be so over-joyous, our hearts will be so very positive and our faces so very always smiling.:*:.
