I'm interested in the style of music folks like to listen to and enjoy. I use to run a christian music program/slot in a local secular radio station for 5 years which God had opened for me in a divine way but I had to let it go due to work commitments. It was my hobby and passion...An experience I will never forget and one that gave me the opportunity to spend hours and hours pouring over and listening to various styles of christian music per week. Sometimes I would invite musicians and artists to come and play, live to air. Awesome times :)

I love many of the old hymns for the richness and biblical truth of the words and for the harmonies. I love singing in 4 part harmony (+). Well, I don't sing all 4 parts, but I love singing with others in 4 part harmony. :) I love harmonizing with others, in other words.

A.B. Simpson's hymns have wonderful words, but his harmonies are not the best, though. But, I still love his hymns, among those of many other hymn writers.

Yet, I also love some contemporary Christian music, too, but ones with good words with sound teaching and with much biblical encouragement. I am not in to songs which repeat the same few words over and over and over again. I know they bless some people, though, but they don't usually minister to my spirit in the same way as those songs rich in Bible truth and Christian encouragement. But, then, I am 67 years old, not that age should matter.

Thanks for your input Sue J. I enjoy singing harmony as well but I'm not part of any music team at the moment. Bless you!

I have a very eclectic taste in music - so I enjoy most everything. You'll find everything on my playlist from Lynda Randle to Kutless. If I absolutely had to pick one favorite, I would say Jesus Culture.

BR Bear, the guitar riffs in the first video seem familiar to me. :) I also like Softly and Tenderly. An oldie but goodie.

Hey JohnP, Lynda Randle has beautiful vocals. Is she part of the Gaither band? Kutless is quite a popular christian band isn't it. I don't know Jesus culture so I googled them. Great contemporary worship music and songs..

She sure does. God on the Mountain and I'm Free are my favorite songs of hers. She is indeed part of Gaither. Speaking of Gaither, I should mention David Phelps. His voice is amazing!

Check out Jesus Culture's version of Revelation Song. I get goosebumps from it!

Greetings again ,

Not sure what genre this is ?

I guess I listen to anything that Praises the Lord!
Once even listened to some Christian Rap for the purpose of creating an album for a young brother who came from a very difficult background, which included secular rap. Not very uplifting...which made me do some research! Anyway one of the songs that I could actually put music to ear with in this genre had words like "we're gonna bomb the devil all the way back....rap, rap, rap, rap," stopped listening and just made a couple of CD's for him. I am so grateful that he never asked for anymore!!

Being eclectic growing up with music in the 60's, 70's, 80's, which had me listening to anything from this long list of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Southern Rock, Pop, Classical, Folk, Blue Grass, Country, Motown, Spanish Guitar, etc. Until the Lord moved me not only in music to Christian only, but in all facets of my life. With that being said, here's a little Contemporary Christian, Pop song whose lyrics I sing and have people wondering if this 61 old man has lost his mind!!!! :-)
