What Happens to Those Who Never Hear the Gospel?

The man on the island. Perhaps you’ve encountered him in a friend’s argument against Christianity. Maybe you’ve even voiced the objection yourself.
How could a good and loving God condemn to hell someone who’s never heard of him?

When it comes to this emotionally vexing issue, there are two dominant positions among professing Christians: inclusivism and exclusivism. While both views maintain that Jesus is the only way to God, only one insists on the necessity of conscious faith in him.

Allure of Inclusivism

Inclusivism is the belief that salvation is only through Jesus Christ, but that there may be persons who are saved without knowing it. They are redeemed by the person and work of a Christ they do not consciously embrace. Simply put, Jesus may save some who never hear of him.

Inclusivists often cite Romans 2:1–16, a passage taken to imply that salvation is possible apart from God’s special revelation. The content of general revelation—both the created order without (Rom. 1:19–20) and the moral law within (Rom. 2:14–15)—provides sufficient knowledge for salvation. As Millard Erickson explains, “The rise of more inclusive views of salvation, even among evangelicals, is based on a belief in the efficacy of general revelation for a salvific relationship to God” (Christian Theology, 123).

Additionally, many inclusivists appeal to the precedent of Old Testament saints who were saved without knowing the name of Jesus. Erickson writes:

What if someone were to throw himself . . . upon the mercy of God, not knowing on what basis that mercy was provided? Would not such a person in a sense be in the same situation as the Old Testament believers? The doctrine of Christ and his atoning work had not been fully revealed to these people. Yet they knew there was provision for the forgiveness of their sins, and that they could not be accepted on the merits of any works of their own. They had the form of the gospel without its full content. And they were saved. (138)

But doesn’t this parallel trivialize Christ’s saving work? Not at all, Erickson insists, for Jesus is still the source of every saving benefit:

The basis of acceptance would be the work of Jesus Christ, even though the person involved is not conscious that this is how provision has been made for his salvation. . . . Salvation has always been appropriated by faith. . . . Nothing has been changed in that respect. (138)

What matters to God, the inclusivist says, is human faith responding to the “light” he has provided at a given time or place. It’s unwarranted, then, for anyone to claim to know the fate of the unevangelized. One pastor put it this way: “I believe the most Christian stance is to remain agnostic on this question. The fact is that God, alongside the most solemn warnings about our responsibility to respond to the gospel, has not revealed how he will deal with those who have never heard it.”1

Many inclusivists appeal to God’s character in defense of their view. Because “God is love,” the argument goes, he’d never condemn someone who didn’t even have a chance to be saved (1 John 4:8, 16). “I agree that inclusivism is not a central topic of discussion in the Bible and the evidence for it is less than one would like,” Clark Pinnock admits. “But the vision of God’s love there is so strong that the existing evidence seems sufficient to me.”

Evidence of Exclusivism

In contrast to inclusivism, exclusivism is the view that redemption is possible through only faith in the gospel.2 This has been the predominant Christian position throughout church history and remains so among Bible-believing evangelicals today.3 Several texts are commonly cited in its defense. Here are five.

1. Romans 1

First, though inclusivists sometimes employ Romans 1:18–23 to highlight the importance of general revelation, on closer reading the text actually supports the exclusivist view. Paul’s argument is that God’s revelation in nature is sufficient only to condemn, not to save. Though the man on the island “knows God” (v. 21), he “suppresses the truth” (v. 18) perceptible in nature and is therefore “without excuse” (v. 20). Humans aren’t guilty because they haven’t heard the gospel; they’re guilty because they haven’t honored their Creator. In other words, not because of the absence of something (faith), but because of the presence of something (rebellion).
So will God condemn the innocent tribesman who has never heard the name of Christ? No, because there are no innocent tribesmen.
Scripture simply does not picture fallen humans as having some vague but noble desire for mercy and forgiveness. Moreover, we seem to have an inescapable pull toward enacting our faith in ritual, liturgy, and sacrifice. So what does the man on the island do? In the imagination of the inclusivist, he just cries out for vague mercy and forgiveness, claiming no merits of his own. In the real world, however, he probably participates in a form of idolatrous folk religion that contradicts and undermines the gospel of grace. (Daniel Strange’s work is helpful here, particularly his insight into how non-Christian religions are “subversively fulfilled” in the gospel of Christ.)

2. Romans 10

Second, the necessity of gospel faith for salvation is on display in Romans 10:
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? . . . So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. (Rom. 10:13–15, 17)
The chain of logic in Paul’s mind is straightforward:
  1. The only way to be saved is to call on Christ’s name.
  2. The only way to call on Christ’s name is to believe the gospel.
  3. The only way to believe the gospel is to hear the gospel.
  4. The only way to hear the gospel is to be told the gospel.
The reality of another means of salvation besides faith in “the word of Christ” is difficult to square with this passage.

3. John 14

Third, we must do justice to Jesus’s declaration, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6; cf. 10:7, 9). Though inclusivists sometimes object that this statement says nothing explicit about faith, the idea is surely implied. The whole aim of John’s Gospel, after all, is to convince readers to believe and be saved (John 20:30–31), as the preceding context makes plain (John 3:36; 5:23–24; 6:35; 7:38; 8:19, 24, 42; 11:25; 12:46). The apostle addresses belief no less than 97 times throughout the book. In light of the entire context, then, “through me” means “through faith in me.”

4. Acts 4

Fourth, the apostle Peter declares: “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Note he doesn’t merely say that there’s no other savior under heaven—something with which inclusivists would agree—but specifically that there’s no other name. Apparently, knowing this savior’s name—his precise identity—is necessary.

5. Acts 10

Finally, there’s a particularly revealing story in Acts 10. God hears the prayers of a devout Gentile named Cornelius and instructs him to send for “a man who is called Peter” (v. 5). Arriving the next day at Peter’s house, Cornelius’s men announce: “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear what you have to say” (v. 22).

Peter then journeys with the men to Cornelius’s house, where the centurion addresses his apostolic guest: “Now we are all here in the presence of God to hear all that you have been commanded by the Lord” (v. 33). What’s interesting is that Cornelius wasn’t expecting any random message but specifically—as an angel had told him—a “message by which you will be saved, you and all your household” (Acts 11:14). In other words, it was a message without which Cornelius would have remained, despite all of his religious sincerity, eternally lost.

Why do I point to this story? Two reasons. First, because if a genuine unreached “seeker” were to exist, why wouldn’t we expect God to reveal the gospel message to him or her—whether through a missionary or a dream—just as he did to Cornelius? Second, and more importantly, because if ever there was a candidate for salvation through general revelation, surely it would’ve been Cornelius! He was as devout and God-fearing as possible given the “light” he’d received. But as the chapter unfolds, it becomes clear that even extraordinary religious sincerity isn’t enough. It was necessary for Peter to leave his home and travel more than 30 miles to deliver a message without which, Scripture suggests, even the most spiritually responsive person in the world cannot be saved.

Why This Matters

So what happens to those who never hear the gospel? The question isn’t some vague theological abstraction; it’s practically relevant and eternally serious. Your view of missions, for example—in terms of both its nature and its urgency—will be directly shaped by your view of the man on the island’s fate. (It’s also worth asking, if divine condemnation results from rejecting Christ, why love wouldn’t compel us to withhold him from the unevangelized.)

Still, one may wonder, isn’t exclusivism unfair? Though it may feel that way at times, in the final analysis we must trust the wisdom of an unfathomably good and merciful God. Perhaps this answer sounds like a cop-out, but it’s not. It’s the posture of humility. After all, it is not our place to subject the Creator to our finite and fallen notions of fairness. Our task is to take him at his word and trust his heart. His ways are higher and different than ours (Isa. 55:8–9). He needs no counselor, for he is good and does good (Ps. 119:68; Rom. 11:34). The Judge of all the earth will do right (Gen. 18:25). And above all, we must stare at Calvary, the summit of wisdom and the intersection of justice and love. There, on a Roman tree, the Judge of all the earth hung in the place of rebels who wanted nothing to do with him.

“Visit many good books, but live in the Bible,” Charles Spurgeon once advised. The most important thing we can do when faced with an emotionally charged topic like this is to open the Word of God, pray for humility and understanding, and then embrace what it says.

A note...

1 It’s worth distinguishing between more explicit inclusivists (who insist God will save some who’ve never heard) and more agnostic types (who claim they don’t know for sure). Even Herman Bavinck is not dogmatic in his exclusivism in light of God’s unilateral sovereignty.

2 Infants and those with mental disabilities that preclude processing didactic information are believed by many (if not most) exclusivists to be in a separate category. Naturally incapable of exercising conscious faith, they cannot be included in the Romans 1 picture—that of a rebellious humanity “without excuse” on the basis of the fact that they “know” God and yet actively “suppress the truth.” An infant cannot be judged according to works (Rom. 2:6; 1 Pet. 1:17). Many exclusivists believe God deals graciously with such non-sentient image-bearers, on the basis of Christ’s work, apart from personal faith.

Consider Jesus' story about the good Samaritan in Luke 10. A Samaritan was someone who was a pagan. He didn't worship God or understood God in the "correct" way. Yet, who was justified in the story? Was it the Pharisee or Levite priest that had the correct theology? Or was it the Samaritan (modern day Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim) that showed love?

Likewise, someone could have the correct understanding of who Jesus is, but if they don't show love, then they are not justified by their theology.

Jesus definitely is the Way, truth, and life, but if we understand this and we don't produce the fruit of Jesus, then our judgment will be heavier then those that didn't know about Jesus (Luke 12:48).

If more truth (light) is revealed to someone and they reject it, then there is no excuse at this point. In other words, if someone didn't know about Jesus and they were given the chance to know, and still don't believe in Him, then this person is accountable to what he now knows.

God uses our conscience to train us to discern right from wrong. All people have this, and all people will be judged by what they understand to be right and wrong. As I already stated, if what someone believed to be right is proven wrong, and they reject the new truth (light), then they are walking in darkness.

This is true for the average evangelical Christian.

In peace

I think they will share the same fate of hypocrites who never bother to share the Gospel to those people that are right there before there eyes' but they talk about people who are out of their reach. I don't think any one can hide from God.

This is an interesting topic that till now that I had not thought about. I believe there are some who call themselves Christians who do not follow the true teachings of Christ through the extending the love and compassion of God to all God's people, while there are those who may not have heard or studied the word of Lord who are without realizing it truly following the teachings of Christ. Who is more saved? I realize as a novice in my attempt to elevate my walk with the Lord through His word I am out of my league in understanding all the nuances of the word, but in my simplistic mind I seek to find the essence of what God wants His people to know and do.

As to the question, how can God condemn someone to hell who has never heard the Gospel, I would say first of all, that is always an assumption that one has never heard. Second of all, as Christians, we know God is just in all that He does. No matter what scenario I may create, God is just in what He does. In other words, there will never be anyone in hell or the Lake of Fire who doesn't belong there. There will be no one in hell who would have believed on Jesus Christ if they just had heard.

If, indeed, God requires that one must place faith in Jesus Christ, which means one must have the knowledge that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Saviour, then He will get that message to all. In this age of the Church and Christianity, I believe this is true. Which is why missionaries are sent throughout the world giving the Gospel.

I remember a true story from a Bible teacher about a missionary, to either South America or Africa, who visited a tribe just like here described. They hadn't any Bible knowledge at all. The missionaries apparently were well received by the natives and one evening were invited to sit around the campfire of the chief and eat with them and talk about the new religion of Jesus Christ. Of course translators were needed. So, the leader of the mission began talking about Jesus Christ, God's Son, and the Sacrifice He gave at the Cross for the sins of man.

Now, the chief had many wives. But his main wife sat right next to him at this meeting. As the missionary spoke, the wife at times would jab the chief with her elbow and say something to him. This was constantly going on. The missionary finally turned to the translator and asked him, what is the woman saying to the chief when she hits him with the elbow? The translator said, she is saying, see there, I told you there was a God like that.

I'm sure I butchered the story but that is the gist. Point being, where did she know that from? And if she knew that much, was that enough to place faith in God and be saved? But now, that question wouldn't matter, because God got to her the information anyway. If no one else in that tribe got saved, God sent those missionaries to that woman who was faithful with the little knowledge she had. If God does require the knowledge of Christ to be saved, He will get it to those who are His.

He Who spoke the universe into existence can make Himself understood to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

I don't think any said God sends those to hell who have never heard of Him. All have heard.

God can send some to hell because He is a good and loving God. Those in hell don't want anything to do with God. They don't want to be in hell, but neither do they want to be with God. For them to be in God's presence would be hell for them.

All praises to FATHER AHAYAH YASHAYAH WA RAACH!

Matthew 24:14 [14]And this Gospell of the kingdome shall be preached in all the world, for a witnesse vnto al nations, and then shall the end come.

God made this promise for why God will send the sinner that has never heard of the gospel to hell;

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

We can see God's working in that specific way in the scripture below.

Acts 16:6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, 7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not. 8 And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas. 9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. 10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

God the Father draws men unto the Son. John 6:44 God the Father is able to reveal truth to little children and hide the truth from the religious wise for why He invites the religious to surrender from their religious works, learn of Him to rest in Him and all His promises to us in Matthew 11:25-30 That is why little children are free to come to Him for all they can do is trust the Lord; take Him at His words. Mark 10:13-15

So God knows those who would receive the gospel from those who prefer their evil deeds rather than come to the light to have their evil deeds reproved. Those who do truth are evident because their coming to believe in Jesus Christ is a work of God Himself.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

What about all those American Indians that never heard the gospel in the early church days? Like Saul on the roaf to Damascus, God is able to reveal His Son to the American Indians in the same way. We have this indication in scripture.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. 19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you. 20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. 21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

We see evidence that God can transport any of His disciples at any time to the native Americans or anywhere else in the world of sinners that seek the Lord to believe in Him after hearing the gospel.

Acts 8:26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. ....37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. 39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. 40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

What about the infant in the womb?

Psalm 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

God knows if that infant would have received Him if he or she had heard the gospel, and so He would reveal His Son to that unborn sinner in the womb to be saved as promised.

Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. 6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

Psalm 139:13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. 15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. 17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

So nobody in hell would be making the complaint that they would have believed if they had heard the gospel. God keeps His promise; His word will accomplish what He has set it out to do.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

That is why Jesus is the only way anyone can come to God the Father by as we can only be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ as we can only live that reconciled relationship with God the Father thru Jesus Christ, our Friend.

In a world of antagonism and offenses, it is our flesh that reacts by returning evil for evil, and sometime beyond that so evil thinks twice before doing that again. "To love our enemies" has to go beyond applying the teachings of Jesus to putting their trust in Jesus Christ to finish His work in them so they can love their enemies. When the just live by faith then they are more apt to see Him working in them and in their lives rather than when they were religiously striving to keep a commitment to follow Him which Jesus had never asked any of His followers to do, but to deny themselves, pick up their cross daily, and follow Him thus surrendering from looking to themselves and trusting Him daily in their relationship with Him.

Indeed, I find that loving my enemies has also go towards trusting Jesus Christ in His sovereignty that He is in control in spite of the evil things happening to me and around me, and I really need His help to keep me from falling into hatred & malice.

We are able to love others because He first loved us; 1 John 4:19 Since love is the fruit of the Spirit, we can look with confidence to the Lord to supply the love we need, and the peace we need to get us through our fiery trials.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: ........11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

See post # 9

God uses our conscience to train us to discern right from wrong. All people have this, and all people will be judged by what they understand to be right and wrong.

Is there scripture for that to be true? Born again Gentile sinners has to be taught to know what is sin as the Gentiles were to be taught to abstain from idols and things affered to idols and abstain from fornication.

Acts 15:5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses. 6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. 7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. 10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they...........19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: 20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

So as the world around us rationalize sin and try to make it normal or natural, there is cause to expose evil because that is what Jesus did for why the world hated Him.

John 7:7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

So His disciples are to teach new believers His words in how He will help us to follow Him as well as what is evil that they need His help to stay away from, to help lay aisde every weight & sin in running that race by faith in Him as His disciple. We can't cast pearls before swine to a world of sinners that do not want to hear it, but to those that are seeking deliverance from their bondage to sin and to death. AND we are not to have fellowship with works of darkness for why the church cannot speak as the world speak nor run as the world runs, because there can be no partiality with the wicked if they are ever to see their need for Jesus Christ to save them from their sins and not just for eternal life.

As I already stated, if what someone believed to be right is proven wrong, and they reject the new truth (light), then they are walking in darkness.

This is true for the average evangelical Christian.

In peace

As many churches and Christians today are being shown and proven wrong but cannot see it because their conscience is seared as they cannot even see their own hypocrisy for they serve something else in His name and not the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 4:1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

So regardless of the sensational supernatural events ( Matthew 7:21-23 & Luke 13:24-30 ), many that profess Him have become workers of iniquity for why many saved believers will not be received by the Bridegroom when He comes at the pre great trib rapture event. That rapture event is when God will be judging His House for why many will be left behind to be resurrected later on after the great tribulation to be received by Him as vessels unto dishonor in His House to serve the King of kings all over the world while those raptured becomes like angels that never die and will live in the city of God that will come down from Heaven as New Jerusalem on earth where the tabernacle of God will dwell among men.

So even former believers are called to depart from iniquity ( 2 Timothy 2:18-21 KJV ) because Jesus Christ still abides in them ( 2 Timothy 2:13 KJV ) for why He must bring those sheep that did not follow His voice ( John 10:16 KJV ) but a stranger's voice, tongues without interpretation as gained by receiving what they believe was the "Holy Spirit" apart from salvation. Many go beyond that "second blessing" in receiving "Him" again and again as the world does in receiving spirits & not just have ecstatic tongues gained by them as well. We are to abstain from all appearances of evil because we cannot run the way the world runs nor speak as the world speaks in their ecstatic tongues when the real God's gift of tongues is of other men's lips to speak unto the people for why His tongues will never be for private use but it will come with interpretation to edify others in the assembly. John 16:13 in ALL Bible versions says He cannot use tongues to utter His own intercessions.

But proving it by the scripture when someone has done something for so long, may not move them to repent and just pray normally and to NOT chase after those spirits any more to receive by a physical sign. God has to peradventure to recover them from this snare of the devil ( 2 Timothy 2:16 KJV & 2 Timothy 2:24-26 KJV ) So like the Catholics that hold unto those long held traditions of works of iniquity in Catholicism, so can Pentecostals & Charismatics when they believe they can receive the Holy Spirit apart from salvation and that tongues gained by that can be used for private use. But it goes beyond even to the Protestants when they believe His Presence can come into the church service of communion or anytime to be felt in the church when 1 John 4:4 places the Holy Spirit as in us and the spirit of the antichrist outside of us. To blur that line of discernment is to remove the means to test the spirits and many will fall for them; Matthew 7:24-27 KJV

So as you say about the evangelical Christians that can be led astray, so can any Christian for why we need to trust Jesus Christ at His word that we can only approach God the Father ( John 14:6 ) especially in worship by honoring ONLY the Son in worship; John 5:22-23 Otherwise, spirits that visits will be worshiped as if they are the Holy Spirit when they are not. Scripture and the real indwelling Holy Spirit will always point to the Son in coming to God the Father by; it is the spirit of the antichrist ( antichrist meaning instead of Christ as in instead of the Son ) that would point believers away from honoring the Son in worship into seeking after them for a sign of their presence and even for receiving them by a worldly sign.

re: "How could a good and loving God condemn to hell someone who’s never heard of him?"

For that matter, how could a good and loving God condemn to hell someone who has heard of him if hell is meant to be torture 24/7 for eternity?

If society keeps hardened criminals behind bars for life and give death sentences to some, how is that any different from what God does when He promises good to those who believe in Him?

If you think it is unfair, the consider having one of those hardened unrepentant criminal released and live in your home. When God promises a good eternity for those who trust in Him, then you, the man of your home, whose intent and will is to provide security and love in your home, then why would God allow any unrepentant sinner that loves their evil deeds rather than repent of them come into Heaven, our eternal Home with God?

Sin corrupts and sinners get worse and worse every day in their individual lives. Sin separate us from the holy God and that is why Adam & Eve fled from Him; their nakedness, their shame, their sins drove them away so that God had to make clothings for them so they could be in His Presence. The believers shall be clothed with robes of His righteousness and sin no more in Heaven so they can live in Heaven with God. In the end, death and sin and hell will be cast into the lake of fire because sin will never separate us from God ever again, thus no more need for hell. As His promise of good is eternal, so must His judgment towards the wicked be eternal if we are to believe His promise that we will never be separated from God ever again as we will know for all eternity that there is nothing good outside the will of God or God Himself. That is why we will be rejoicing in His mercy and in His grace, giving thanks to God the Father in Jesus's name with eternal songs of joy.

There is also the fact that a person could stand outside and look at the sky at night, look at his part of the world in daytime...The lay of the land, the trees, plants, animals, all of creation that he can see. And He can know that all he sees is not just an accident of nature...He can easily come to the conclusion that it all had to be planned, laid out and done by an intelligent person...a person far above ordinary humans....and he would be right. Now if he chose to take that person as God and worship Him....he wouldn't even have to know that Gods name....He is worshiping the creator and there is only one creator.

If YOU continue in my word then YOU shall know the truth and the truth shall set YOU free. In time an Overcoming born again spirit gets fed hidden manna that most cannot or will not accept because they are still stuck in SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS. When you finally realize that what JESUS did was done for ALL and not those who claim to have "ACCEPTED JESUS" I.E self righteousness, then you too will be shown mighty things which you probably cannot handle right now. You may still believe that the others deserve what they get because they did not do what your doing or did. This is salvation by SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS. And if you toss this in the FATHERS face it will be rejected quite adamantly.
I refer to Romans 5:18 "Therefore as by the offense of one judgement came upon ALL MEN to CONDEMNATION (GODS CHOICE); even so by the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF ONE (JESUS) the FREE GIFT
came upon (ALL MEN) unto justification of life". Again (GODS CHOICE). You must see that the Father created the CONDEMNATION in order to make the sacrifice of the SON necessary for the JUSTIFICATION and not by something YOU do or did but completely and solely from what JESUS did. PAY THE PRICE FOR ALL.

Most never understand the sagacity of GOD in the sense that there must be vessels to dishonor (which he creates) in order to MATURE the CHOSEN vessels of HONOR.
Afterall, "Doth not the potter have control over the same lump of clay to make vessels to honor and to dishonor?" I ask you why he would do such and the answer you have been given previously.
Forgive so that you may be more like your FATHER which is in Heaven. How could you do this unless sin was cast at you by vessels of dishonor??? Is sin a good thing then? No but a necessary thing or it would not exist. It is a MATURING TOOL and when ALL are matured it will cease to exist!!!!!!

To not belabor this I want you to carefully consider Isaiah 59:20-21
" And the Redeemer (JESUS) shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.
As for me, THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, (JESUS AGAIN) and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, (JESUS) nor out of the mouth of THY SEED (JESUS' SEED)?, nor out of the mouth of THY SEEDS SEED?????, saith the Lord from henceforth and for ever.

First question who are the seed of JESUS? Are they not those 144,000 found with him at his return to take over this world? Are they not the CALLED, THE CHOSEN, THE FAITHFUL, AND THOSE THAT DID NOT LOVE THEIR LIVES UNTO THE DEATH? And if you asked any single one of them they would say it was the LORD who made it all possible not them, HE CALLED, HE CHOSE, AND HE MAKES ON FAITHFUL AND BY SHOWING YOU WHO HE IS YOU CAN NEVER LOVE YOUR LIFE IN THE FLESH MORE THAN THE ONE IN THE SPIRIT WHICH IS ETERNAL. For the reward is GODSHIP THROUGH ADOPTION. THIS IS WHAT WE PATIENTLY WAIT FOR.
Second question who are the SEEDS SEED???

Once you've been given the hidden manna you will know!

Jesus became JESUS CHRIST when he was given the Holy Ghost at the river Jordan. After his sacrifice he was Glorified and declared to be the SON of GOD making HIM a GOD. Where there was Just ONE now there are TWO. He now as John the Baptist tells us is the ONE who baptizes with the Holy GHOST and with FIRE. Those who are recipients of this baptism are the CHOSEN, but not necessarily the other parts mentioned.
It is those who are the FAITHFUL AND LOVED NOT THEIR LIVES UNTO DEATH that are the SEED of the LORD JESUS whom once glorified themselves through adoption as sons will be able to do the same. Give part of their resurrected life (spirit life) unto those chosen in the next group. As of this writing there are none that have been glorified so still just only JESUS has this HONOR.

The beginning of the thread states what happens to the man on the island who never heard the gospel?

Revelation tells us that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that JESUS IS LORD. At the first resurrection this will happen and the process of maturing GODS next group of SONS will begin. But this time there will be 144,001 that can and will impart spiritual life to their BROTHERS. And if you read carefully you'll see that this process happens 3 times culminating in ALL MEN justified in gods eyes.

I know this is deep and hard and probably rejected but how can you say you are free if you are still worried about the rest of the world and their salvation?? Is GOD not big enough to accomplish his will without you? It is because you still have not the FULL TRUTH that sets you free. Afterall; this is/was GODS plan not yours so who will see it through to the end? GOD WILL for he "WORKS ALL THINGS ACCORDING TO HIS OWN WILL." EPHESIANS 1:11 . Your will is irrelevant and thank GOD for that for his is so much better for YOU and all HIS CREATION.

Indeed read Ephesians 1 the whole thing, it says the same things as mentioned above.

In the beginning was the word (PLAN) and the word (PLAN) was with GOD and the word(PLAN) was GOD.
In a nutshell it has and is GODS intention to bring every soul he made human to SONSHIP STATUS WHICH IS GODSHIP. Reject it for now but he will show you the same someday and your joy will be
overwhelming and your freedom unlimited and your LOVE overflowing.

Wish I had time to explain the Bride of Christ whom the CHOSEN are. Quickly, JESUS the only SON of GOD has the MALE spiritual genetics necessary for your FEMININE spirit to be born again. An unfertilized egg in a woman remains an egg, but fertilized it becomes a new entity that has never existed before. Same thing when the baptism of the HOLY GHOST is given to you. You are now a NEW CREATURE that has never existed before and a SON no longer feminine.
GOD gave you a FEMININE spirit at your conception but it is enveloped in a human body that is at odds with GOD as it possesses a CARNAL MIND and believes it is its own GOD. That perception drastically changes when you meet HIM.

In closing, the promises that GOD made to Abraham and Sarah were to their SON Isaac whom was a product of the union of a half brother and half sister as ABRAHAM AND SARAH had the SAME FATHER.
The joining of your FEMININE SPIRIT with the SON OF GODS SPIRIT is the same in that we are SARAH and he is ABRAHAM and GOD is TERAH the FATHER of BOTH.
See with your spiritual eyes if they be not closed. GOD the FATHER is much more capable than you or I can imagine and he is not limited in any way shape or form. His will will be done regardless of our objections!!

May the Lord open your eyes to see what is the riches of HIS GRACE. "Having made known unto us the MYSTERY OF HIS WILL, according to HIS GOOD PLEASURE which HE hath purposed in HIMSELF.
That in the dispensation of the fullness of times(3) he might gather together ALL THINGS in CHRIST(THE ANNOINTING OF THE HOLY GHOST WHICH GIVETH LIFE), both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him." Ephesians 1:9-10

Such a condemning note. Are any of us really doing our part? I dare say that the Holy Spirit more than makes up for our lack, and do you not agree, we all lack?

So, when you fail to meet up to your 'part' have no fear. God has His Spirit working in other believers just for that purpose. Just as He has His Spirit working in you to make up for others lack.

Such a person will hear the gospel no matter what, because God promised this to every one that seeks Him See post #9

Just trust the Lord Jesus Christ to direct your steps; entrust your ways unto the Lord. As bad as everything is in these latter days, is any one seeking Him? Trust Him to raise up workers for the harvest; trust Him to have you ready when someone asks you for the hope you have, but the burden of the ministry is on Him because Jesus Christ is Lord, and the Father knows who is seeking Him from those that are not. See post # 9

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

That's all and well BUT -
If one is not trained to be Spirit Lead then they will not walk in the Steps ordered by the Lord.

If one does not first get Gods Word in them in abundance then it won't be there to come out.

Head knowledge worketh very little where the Word of God is Concerned and there is a lot of that going around.[/QUOTE]

JesusIs4Me,
re: "If society keeps hardened criminals behind bars for life and give death sentences to some, how is that any different from what God does when He promises good to those who believe in Him?"

It would be 100 percent different. I think you mean to say "If society keeps hardened criminals behind bars for life and give death sentences to some, how is that any different from what God does when He tosses unbelievers into the lake of fire and tortures them 24/7 for eternity?"

And it's different because the hardened criminals aren't normally being tortured night and day and their sentences end at some point between their incarcerations and their deaths.

JesusIs4Me,
re: "... why would God allow any unrepentant sinner that loves their evil deeds rather than repent of them come into Heaven, our eternal Home with God?"

But why does eternal conscious torture have to be the only alternative? Why can't the person simply be annihilated?
