I’m appalled at how this Singaporean businessman is being treated. Multiple times he was denied a chance to respond to serious allegations and other times he’s interrupted when he’s trying to answer a question in a detailed way.

I see this as nothing more than racism towards the Chinese regardless of their nationality. Is it a crime now to be born a certain race? Or is it a crime to do business with certain countries that US does not approve of? Are businesses not allowed to remain neutral and have to choose sides in order to be legit?

I fully understand the concerns over data privacy and links to governments. But come on, what business can operate in a country without cooperating with the local government at some point? What is the CEO of a global company supposed to do? No matter what side he is on he is going to suffer repercussions from the other side. Why isn’t he even given the chance to work with the US government to better protect US citizens? Just because he is Chinese by race?

This is exactly why I posted on another thread that the West needs to repent. Punishing/discriminating against an entire race over political reasons and over the acts of a few, and that coming from a country that says In God we trust. Jesus said to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Clearly that is thrown out the door.

Unless a country has completely departed from the living God, I see no reason why they need to fear any other country out there. Is God not able to protect a country with godly citizens?

It’s the exact same thing when the Chinese or any race are given all kinds of labels because of their government.

Remember you are a Christian, not a heathen. You believe that good people won’t support a bad government, but that’s a shallow way to look at things.

What are citizens of a country supposed to do when their very survival is dependent on the government? They have families to feed, are they supposed to starve their families to death or let their families face threats in order to overthrow corrupt governments? You may be brave enough to do that, but it’s utterly cruel to demand the same from everyone else, especially those living in spiritual darkness.

How would you feel if you are judged because of your race over what your government does? Is it your fault you are born a certain race and had to live under certain kinds of government? No, so why lay the blame on an entire race who had no right to choose their place of birth, their government or race?

Most importantly, what would God think of all this?

What baffles me is why this businessman is not even given the chance to work with the US Govt to better protect data privacy, ESP when the businessman is willing to do that.

To say this is not racism of some sort is denial. Obviously this businessman is somewhat perceived to be pro-CCP because he is Chinese by race. It is even more unfair that he is punished as a businessman when he has no choice but to work with ANY government in countries he conducts businesses. Is it his fault that US and China aren’t on the best of terms? So why kill his business then?

Israel, in old times, faced numerous powerful pagan nations around them. If anything, Israel was in a more dangerous spot than US. Yet the pagans could do nothing to Israel when God was with them. When Israel was invaded because of its sin, people like Daniel even served the king of his enemy because his country was invaded for walking away from God.

Do you see anywhere in the Bible that God teaches His people to defend their country by hating other nations that don’t agree with them?

As for the video you’ve posted, there are comments on YouTube saying it’s not fair the CEO is blamed and unrealistic that TikTok is expected to ban all violent content in a split second when it’s AI does not automatically recognise these videos as illegal. Such content needs to be reported to be banned and that particularly video has barely a few hundred likes. Even others are recognising how biased this entire hearing is.

Maybe all social media should be banned in US since it’s virtually impossible for any tech company to deal with content like this efficiently 100% of the time.

This is all part of the propaganda required to make China an enemy of the U.S.A. and the excuse for making war against China.
Much of this comes out of racism and colonialism as "whites" have ruled the world for the last 500 years with an iron fist.
The ruling elites of America are not ready to give up their worldwide hegemony to a non-white inferior people who have the natural resources to become a world superpower in their own right.
Thus China must be demonized and sanctioned and reminded as to who rules the world.
Alas America will have yet another war and your young men and women will die for nothing good.
The war against Russia was meant to weaken and take out Russia so as to allow the U.S.A. to then move against China, but this has not happened and the U.S.,A. may well make the fatal error
of fighting two wars at the same time.

For those who have reason, why does US need to fear China, North Korea or Russia if God is on your side? Israel faced dangers many times that of the US yet Israel prevailed against a host of countries around it. So where is the fear coming from?

Shouldn’t Christians in the US be praying for their country as well US’ enemies? Isn’t that what Jesus did for His enemies? If any of you believe that taking a stance against countries that threaten the US is somehow going to make US safe, then you’re going to be disappointed. God has allowed even Israel to be invaded by Babylon, Rome etc and nothing is going to stop God’s judgment if a nation sins against Him.

Repent for your nation if you believe God is going to judge it. That is a much better way of protecting yourself or your country.

I know in this day and age we all do not believe or understand the words of Jesus Christ. But whether we like it or not he said these words.

The second command is not The 1st. and The greatest commandment. If you fulfilled the 1st. you also have fulfilled all of the other 9 by doing the 1st. and one do not even have to mention the other 9. Do the 1st. and you have fulfilled all of the other ones.

Not every nation had a Christian background and judgment begins with the house of God. I’m sure no other country can do anything to US just like nobody can touch Israel if God is protecting it. But Americans don’t seem to believe in God’s protection anymore.

I have never used TikTok and never planned to. In fact, I don’t even use FB or any other social media. If people find those tech stuff unsafe, just don’t use it.

What I find sad is this entire thing has become an assumption about how every Chinese is somehow linked to CCP if they do business in China. Let me just tell you that as a foreigner who stayed in China for a good while not even every Chinese national who lives in China supports CCP. They do not dare to speak out because of the oppression and yet the West collectively brands all Chinese as pro-CCP. That is so far fetched from the truth.

Chew is not even a Chinese national and even he is put into that same group. Like I said, businessmen have to comply with the governments in the countries they have business in, that does not mean they are politically involved. If operating a business in China implies pro-CCP, what about those Taiwanese, US, Japan businesses that operated in China the past decades?

Listen to Chew’s testimony, he is willing to let American companies and US citizens control and manage the data his app collects in the US. He calls it Project Texas. Does he look like he is pro-CCP when he is offering to work with the US government to better protect US data?

That said, I do not care if TikTok is banned. What I do care about is citizens of countries being dragged into a political struggle that ends in bloodbath. I don’t believe punishing the citizens for what their government does is a godly way to treat any race or nationality.
