What do you mean exactly? Are you referring to curse word type of swearing?

I would ban you for cursing :) If you are referring to making a promise 'swearing' well, basically it would be proper to live up to the promise or do not promise at all.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding exactly what you mean. I apologize if so.

1989, all I can say is ask GOD for help. Personally I would face the truth. Remember God is supposed to be number one. Talk to you later about it:)
God bless you greatly, remember what I said. bye

Mathew chapter 5
33 "Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.' 34 But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God's throne; 35 nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

Sometimes we says things when we are upset or in the heat of anger, but after we calm down we realize we dont really mean it. I think most people have done that at one time or another. True- maybe they shouldnt have said it but if they were wrong in saying so, then they need to repent and do whatever the Lord wants. I have found many times when we say we would never do something then we end up doing it. Remember never say "NEVER ---"

God bless

If you have sworn an oath then you must perform it.

For the future it would be better for you as a follower of The Messiah Jesus (if you are a follower of Jesus?) to follow His teaching on the matter of swearing oaths.

Matthew 5
33 " Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.' 34 "But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God's throne; 35 "nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 "Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 "But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

Do not swear oaths.

You are accountable to noone but God! The brother that spoke is true, you should never swear, God takes it seriously, but.. God certainly would not hold you responsible for an oath that you made that was certainly not of Him, or biblically based, or spiritually sound. If you made an oath, and you now know that you should'nt have, or whoever the person is in question, the first thing you need to do is repent. Get it right with God and then get it right with the person. God is a forgiving God, and your brother or sister should be as well. If they know the Lord, If they don't then the only thing you can do is to leave it in the hands of the Lord. The Bible says be swift to hear, and slow to speak. That's why The Bible says as the person stated earlier to you that you don't swear, because when you do, you are responsible for the promises that you make. In the end, again.. repent, but that doesn't mean you go on haphazardly doing it again. Once you know the truth, God will most assuredly hold you responsible, with knowledge, comes responsibility. You are accountable.

We are worned not to swear but like most every sin if....

We are worned not to swear but like most every sin if....

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1John 1:9

Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit. Mark 3:28-30

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 1John 3:20
