Those who practice true love never seek reward for acts of love for the following reasons. 1) The privilege to love and serve others itself is the greatest reward, because, this give them a share in God’s life. They are, therefore, exceedingly thankful to God, for performing acts of love through them. 2) To love others is their heart’s desire. Therefore, when they love others by their acts, it is a reward or a gift to them. God gives us a free gift. His gift is the gift of His own life, which He gave us by sacrificing His own life. It is the only gift that is real, because, it is the only gift that gives us life and is eternal. To accept this gift, is to live His life of sacrificial and life giving forgiveness. To live this life is our reward.

I appreciate your post, arunagelo. That is very true, and I needed that reminder.

Great post brother God bless you.

I think this is a good example

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Luke 6:34-36
And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.

What is Our True Reward in Life? This is a very searching and challenging question. Not the kind of question that can be answered lightly or quickly, even though I maybe trying to do such.

When you then talk about love in answer to the question; you are hitting a high point, for "God is Love" 1 Jn 4 ; 8

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believeth on Him......should not perish but have everlasting life" Jn 3 ; 16
