What is really in a lie?

A very special subject with me!! For before Jesus I was the very King of them! I learned at a very early age, much as most do,at the time, a lie was no big deal! I mean, so what?I was lied to!By my own parents! " Be good or Santa Claus will not visit your house!"Here! save that tooth and put it under your bed,and the tooth fairy will reward you!" The Easter Bunny will come if you go to sleep like a good boy. My brothers and sisters in Christ!! WE follow what we learn! We think at the time lying is no big deal,a little white lie? Humm do not see chapter and verse for such.

The very first thing God himself drew my attention to was this in my own life!! Through my life, please let Holy Spirit in me help you in your own life. I have found the following true for me!1.Depression comes from lying.2.You get so good at them you start to believe them yourself!3.You always blame others for your problems! Proverbs 6:17 a lying tongue!

Just before this is talked about here, please read Proverbs 6:6-19 LAZY!! as well! We used to lie because it was easy to do so! Now being born unto a New creature,it sure should not be!( 2 cor 5:17)Many are still in a hole in there Christian life, because they have held onto one of the most horrible parts of self,a lie. From this deadly sin,and I do mean deadly sin!

Comes much sorrow behind it.I do not have to tell you!You know! Everyone has done this, why even the disciples have done this!!Remember? Oh Jesus we will follow you wherever you go!! oops( matt 26:56) So how does one escape from the horrible room of lying?Enter God's Holy Word.( rom 12:1-2) We first must now believe as strongly as we did before we believed that lying is so bad, we would not even think to do it anymore!

It takes a great deal of training! And very hard work!Being much slower to speak, hearing close every word that comes out of your mouth, seeking the Lord daily in ones life, and finally, not the least of which! Holding yourself accountable!( Matt 12:36-37)When, and I say when, not IF! When you do this, you will find a long rope! Jesus will be waiting for you at the top of the hole you dug yourself into,he will smile at you,and say well done!

Of all the sins in this world none is more evil then this one!WHY?? Because a lie never ends! It moves on to the next one and the next! It is like being on a train that never stops at any station, with so much track to run on it speeds full ahead, with you on board as the conductor! Handing out tickets of lies to others, thinking you have fooled them all!

The further the train of lies goes for us,the less guests we find we now have, they jump from the train, the lies are just to much for them to bear, many will not tell you of this when it happens, they figure you would never believe them so why bother! So the train moves on, and you figure they that left were not worth the trouble anyway!

I mean really!! How could you be wrong??NOT YOU!! One day my train fell off the tracks! It slammed into a very large gap,my gap,the very one I myself created for my train to fall into! Now a loving Jesus comes to my rescue! He tells me of why my life has been so bad,he comforts me in the fact that all through this train ride,he still loves me! He cares!

And he has chosen me to have the very honor to represent him on this earth,IF I will just do one thing!! Stand for what can set all men and women free in HIM!! TRUTH!( John 8:31-32) knowing the truth is speaking the truth!before we can point to another,we best remove our own log in our own eyes!

In doing so,we do not rebuke another,we show them! By our words! And in our action! There is much that can be said!! Many of you have been very good here at telling the truth! But many are not! Consider where you are, before you tell another which way they should turn. This is not a rebuke! This is something for us all to always consider! Blessing to you Body Of Christ!

I can see the Holy Spirit moving in you Mark with each of your posts. This one was something I think we can never hear or take in enough...a constant reminder that even when we think we can cover the truth with a lie that it is never covered from the Lord Jesus who sees and knows all. Sometimes one will lie to cover the truth of what they feel ashamed of or have done but in the end it is still known by God and as I found out personally what one thinks is not known has been known all along. Myself personally went through a time where I covered my actions and sinful life in lies and even though I did my mother had known all along what was going on and what I had done and above all
God knew...lies eventually will be exposed there is no denying that...I believe it has happened to alot of us who thought oh noone knows and then we find out they do.

The thing I remember now is this..no matter where I am, what I am doing, or saying that God is always constantly there with me hearing, and seeing and knowing everything. As well as being aware that there are eyes and ears on me during my time on this earth. There is a verse in the bible that constantly reminds me of this and it's one that i've held
close to my heart and will by the grace of God continue to keep close always.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

I am constantly reminded that out of my heart comes the intent of my actions and words
and that nothing is hidden from my Lord and Savior that He is with me even when noone
else is there He is . To keep myself just as Jesus wants me to be I must stay in His word which is His truth and mediate on those things that are righteous, pure, holy and good and acceptable in His sight...it also means continually praying that He help me control my
tongue because alone the bible tells us no man can tame the tongue, but it's Jesus that helps me control and tame my tongue in all situations.

Thank you once again for following The Holy Spirit and sharing the truthful words of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hello Brighthouse.

Very interesting read.

Was not the first lie that the first woman Eve heard "you shall not die".

Hang on, how do I know that your telling the truth Brighthouse!

Ha, ha.

Have a good day my brother in Christ.

I am not sure that lying is the worst sin in the World, blasphemy of
the Holy Spirit might take that prize.

Thank you both AbbysAunt and David for your kindness. This is one of the most toughest topics to speak on for most of us! When the Lord delt with me in my own life after being born again,I stood in front of a very large mirror,Holy Spirit said in my mind mark what are you really!! looking at? OH!!

I want you to take off your mask you are looking at,and let people see me instead of your mask! Now how close do you wish to follow me mark? The day has come for you to truly decide! 36 years ago I removed my mask, sometimes I look to put it on again, perfect love does take time to grow of course!

After about 1 year I never wished to have my mask again. When one is following why would I not want Jesus to see my true self?? He does anyway! I am not kidding anyone! As I said, I just barely touched ever so lightly upon the subject,Truth at first can be most frightening because we just do not want to see!

I sure know I did not before. But now! The mask has gone into the darkness from whence it came, into the dark closet I used to live in. Now Holy Spirit and his warmth fills me daily, and I have the love of so many of you as comfort as well! Now the devil comes to bring much guilt to us when we decide! OH!!

He hates this change more then any!! WHY?? because my brothers and sisters the devil himself is the very father of ALL LIES!!( john 8:44) What he stole so much of in my life was not to be believed! So,he does his best to help get that ugly mask back on us! And from time to time as we are learning, we do,I sure did. But as we truly find the truth NOT HIDDEN!! In God's Word!!

We become more and more like our true Father! And his grace and love and ever loving kindness encourages us daily in him!The truth is this! If you give your life in exchange for Holy Spirit, you will be rewarded! The light you now bear high on a hill( matt 5:14-16) cannot, like God's Word ever be hidden! because my brothers and sisters we are LIVING!!! Testimonys to God's Own power in our lives! ( 1 Cor 2:5)The truth of God's own love for us his people is reveled by the truth Jesus lived for us,and yes even died for us, and rose again so we in HIM can have both Love and truth.

Not hidden, but exposed! So Jesus can be glorified in US! Do not be disheartened! Through Jesus all can do this! Yes it takes time, yes it takes hard work, and yes the rewards given back unto us far exceed all we ever expected! I am proof unto you all! Peace be with you all!! because peace in truth is what we now have!! Praise God!!

Ananias and Sapphira tried to lie to God!

Acts 5:1-11 ESV
But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, and with his wife's knowledge he kept back for himself some of the proceeds and brought only a part of it and laid it at the apostles' feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to man but to God.” When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and breathed his last. And great fear came upon all who heard of it. The young men rose and wrapped him up and carried him out and buried him.
After an interval of about three hours his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. And Peter said to her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much.” And she said, “Yes, for so much.” But Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” Immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. When the young men came in they found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. And great fear came upon the whole church and upon all who heard of these things.

I believe not all lies are equal. Sin is sin to be sure. I'm not disputing this, but Abraham told the King of Gerar that Sarah was his sister (Gen 20:2). Peter denied knowing Jesus 3 times in one day. Jacob pretended to be Esau to steal his birth-right. There are a few other examples as well. I'm not condoning or excusing any of this, or even saying it wasn't sin. I'm just not sure that every lie leads directly to death.

Understand brother Bac!! Please consider this from Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue. not may be,not could be,but are.
