What Is Truth At T.J. ?

I once ran across a list that was regarded as the seven foundational biblical truths which are:
1. The truth of God
2. The truth of the Son of God
3. The truth of God’s Creation
4. The truth of Sin and God’s Judgement
5. The truth of Israel, God’s chosen nation
6. The truth of the Church, God’s chosen people
7. The truth of the Kingdom of God
Possibly, we should look at no. 2 more closely because Jesus said that he was the truth.
I find agreeing to the truth here at T.J. is a totally different matter, well the truth as I see it anyway. Whether you take any of the above seven, Jesus, or Rapture, Salvation, Tongues, Falling Away, Justification, Faith, Grace, Works, Others, I seldom find any subject where I don't find someone who, adamantly doesn't agree with me.

I often find that many of their arguments are way out in left field, well to me anyway, but I am sure they feel the same way about me .
I just don't understand most of the time, I see most scriptures plainly and easy to understand, but, then again, for the most part, I am sure they feel the same way. I say some, because I have even offered to "agree to disagree" with one fellow and he refused to do that. Not sure why, but I don't believe that gentleman is with us anymore!
Finally, there is one Biblical truth that I think we ALL can agree on and ,that is, Jesus is Lord and Savior!
Can I have an Amen?

God the answer to the problem you present about 3,000 years ago through the penned words of Solomon. Men for the most part have not changed in spite of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus:

"Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts." Prov 21:2

The key to Solomon's words, I believe, are in the second underlined phrase.[/quote]

Nice RJ I would just add one more to your fine list. Truth has no value unless those who believe in that truth walk in that truth! Good fruit means a lot!!( john 15:2-6)

Agree completely, Amen! I guess in a way, there is no end to truth, because Jesus is eternal!
Especially for those who insist they must do works, I think this is a truth:
John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
It is not our works (fruit) that justifies us but Christ's fruit through us, because after all, we are just a branch! A good branch bears the fruit, but the genetic code comes from the vine!

Amen!

Now you can easily see why there are so many denominations! Also, the Jesus that we might believe in, is not necessarily the Jesus that others believe in. (Reference JW, Mormons, Muslims etc.). So if the Jesus is seen in a different light or should I say with a lack of light. It's not that hard to hazard that the results also will be varied, and to me darkened or not seen so clearly as one would anticapate.

Too often as I'm sure you've also found out brother. When talking or discussing with people a subject in scripture many times it's not about truth, but about who is right. Which is not necessarily the same thing.

I once heard a handicapped young child say when asked what truth was. His reply was "Truth is what you see when you look through the eyes of God." No confusion there, I dare say! :)
