Pilate asked him, “What is truth?" (John 18:38 NRSV)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 NRSV)

Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. (John 17:17 NRSV)

In the beginning the Word already was. The Word was in God’s presence, and what God was, the Word was. He was with God at the beginning, and through him all things came to be; without him no created thing came into being. (John 1:1-3 REB)

women should be silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as the law also says. (1Cor 14:34 NRSV) *Are women silent in the churches of today?

Wives, be subject to your husbands as you are to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church, the body of which he is the Savior. Just as the church is subject to Christ, so also wives ought to be, in everything, to their husbands. (Eph 5:22-24 NRSV)

To the woman he said, “I will greatly increase your labor pains; with pain you will give birth to children. You will want to control your husband, but he will dominate you.” (Gen 3:16 NET2.1) *Comparing Gen 3:16 to Gen 4:7 shows this to be a proper rendering of the verse

You should also look for able men among all the people, men who fear God, are trustworthy, and hate dishonest gain; set such men over them as officers over thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens. (Exod 18:21 NRSV)

And the LORD said to Moses, “Gather for me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; and bring them to the tent of meeting, and let them take their stand there with you. (Num 11:16 RSV)

Therefore, friends, select from among yourselves seven men of good standing, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint to this task, (Acts 6:3 NRSV) *Nowhere in God's word are His people told to select women for leadership or rule positions, in family, church or State!

My people—children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, your leaders mislead you, and confuse the course of your paths. (Isa 3:12 NRSV)

I have looked for other answers but have found none. I found one man in a thousand that I could respect, but not one woman. (Eccl 7:28 GNB92)

But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the husband is the head of his wife, and God is the head of Christ...Indeed, man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for the sake of woman, but woman for the sake of man. (1Cor 11:8-9 NRSV) (1Cor 11:3 NRSV)

Back to Pilate's question: "What is truth?" The word of God is the truth, the truth that sanctifies His people, but does the church obey it? The church is full of hypocrisy, condemning gay men with questionable translations and interpretations, and meddling with others about abortion, a subject not addressed in scripture; while blatantly defying the crystal clear word of God above on the roles God assigned to men and women!

Philosophy says truth can vary based on individual perspectives or cultural contexts giving grounds for statement's such as "That may be true for you but not for me." *It is the philosophical "cultural" contexts that feminists use to avoid scripture by claiming it is written to fit man's design of patriarchy, contrary to:

"First of all you must understand this, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, because no prophecy ever came by human will, but men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God." (2Pet 1:20-21 NRSV)
