What is your Routine?

Experts say one should try to exercise 30 minutes about five days a week. Could be walking swimming riding a bike or chores like mowing the lawn.

My Question is do you have a weekly routine of exercise and what would that be?

I recently started doing Jillian Michaels workouts, I do them everyday, about 30 minutes. Before that I did lots of walking. I really want to add more to my routine though, so I'm also going to do "Zumba" dancing along with it, I'm not sure if you're familiar with it, it's a workout for women and men.

But you said the right thing, 30 minutes for 5 days a week is the average workout.

Do you have a routine?

BTW, this is a very good post, maybe more people would post and benefit us with some of their advice as well :)

I work out 3 days a week doing 20 min. cardio and 1 hour weight lifting.

Usually for cardio I'll do stairs or the elliptical, maybe a run.
And for lifting I switch off arms and legs, and I do what's called opposing muscle supersets.

I'm a fitness nut so I always do things around the house, too... like calf raises when I'm brushing my teeth, standing as opposed to sitting (burns more calories), making more trips up the stairs, carrying in more bags of groceries at a time, and wearing heels!

Recently I think I may have lost some weight it feels like it. I need to get a routine started back up.

In my routines is usually a combination of weight lifting, resistance and low impact cardio.

The combo of cardio and resistance works well with muscle and weight loss. I wish there was a pool close by. An indoor pool I think swimming is one of the best over all exercises. You can have fun swimming and lose weight at the same time. Take a look at the pro swimmers. You will not see one over weight.

I never want to be like a tri Athlete. That is too much all at once. I like the stationery bikes you can change your pace. When someone rides a bike outside the only change you mostly make is trying to not get hit by the cars hahaha. And I am not talking about the Rock group either hahaha. A car song is very easy to spot but not a car going 80 on any way street hahaha.

Well QH I am like you. I need to get started again really soon.
Right now major depression is holding me back because of some personal issues that I'm involved in.

But I know when I really have my mind set on something I wait until I achieve it. So honestly I know I'm not at that place yet 100%.

But I know one thing I like to state..age is also a major factor.
The older you are and don't have a routine of any kind the harder it will be start.

But don't let it stop you. You will need to go very slow at first and not to expect any major miracles to happen right away.
Your body will time to readjust to exercising and maybe eating right again.

Either way for people that are in this boat Good Luck.

This is hard for me but I try to stay active. I like to run. Go to the track and do a mile a day or play soccer, basketball, or football.

I changed my workout routine, I started to do Insanity 2 or 3 times a week for 20min and i got 2 the gym 2 times a week.

Insanity- "Fast and Furious," contains cardio, and core.

Gym- I do upper body and lower body and 20min cardio.

I walk to work once and some times twice a week, it takes me about 30 minutes, I was hoping that can help me to lose some weight as well, but I don't lose weight.

Great to see everyone is trying to stay fit.

Abraham I applaud you for doing insanity...it's insane. I thought I was fit but when I did the fit test I was in pain the next couple of days. I also was doing more than I should.

Two things I would like to add to this conversation.

1. Eating habits are important, do not count calories instead read labels and stay away from ingredients you can not pronounce. Calories is not important it's eating the right foods. When you eat the right foods your body will not store waste. You'll have more energy and a strong immune system with no need for vaccines. You'll be eating foods that can be digested.

2. Mainly to the ladies, but I know some men do suffer with this. Stop trying to look skinny or have the body of a 12yr boy. Skinny does not mean healthy therefore should not be the goal. If you are a grown woman you should not have the same weight you did when you were 13/15yr old. To many young women suffer with eating disorders and we are not helping them by having a mindset that skinny is beautiful. When it is not. Celebrities that are anorexic yet labelled fit do not live the same lifestyle we do, so manipulating our bodies to look like theirs is abuse. Being healthy should be the goal, get your blood tested, get a physical, go to a toxicology clinic ( you'd be surprise the metals and pesticides in your body ). Staying fit can only be attain when we treat our bodies as temples and not something to be abused or manipulated.

Women with low body weights also are also at risk for conditions associated with an aging spine. Excessive dieting or eating disorders, like anorexia nervosa, can contribute to bone loss. Thin women have less body fat and therefore produce less estrogen—a hormone that can help prevent bone loss in post-menopausal women. Underweight girls are more likely to develop breast cancer later in life. It is the tall, thin girls who go on to have the highest rates of premenopausal beast cancer. This suggests that girls should not be deprived of needed calories in an effort to delay puberty or to avoid later obesity.

You're obviously better than me and will see great results for all your hard work. I also need more space ( excuse :quiet: ) to do the insanity.
I love it though.

:) funny, My only problem is my eating habits. I was reading your post about dietary danger and guidelines. I break few those a day. I have a problem with drinking sweet tea. lol
