 Ok, next year i have the option to take algebra 1, or exceled math. Right now im in honors math and have made straight A's with God's help to keep me from quiting. My teacher says i should probably take algebra 1. which means i'd take calculus in 12th grade (but with excelled math i wouldnt, i would take trig.). the thing about algebra 1 is we do SO much work, and we practice in the afternoon on for like 3 HOURS!!!!! and i thought it would take away time from church and family (which are my main focuses) But if i dont take calculus in 12th grade, i might not get into some of the coleges I would want. And that might be kinda confusing, i couldnt find a easy way to explain it. I just dont know what to do.

Thanks, and in Him ><>

Dear IsHeInYou2010,

Thank you for sharing your challenge. When you prayed to God He gave you the strength to finish your math and get straight A's, He is not finished.

Emily, as you decide whether to take Algebra 1 or Excelled Math, God may have answered your prayer by leading your teacher to help you decide.

You see, when we ask God to answer our prayers that will work out best for us, God answers our prayers that will work out best for Him which is better for you! I believe you have a gift with numbers, you are an honors math student, and with your teacher's advice on Algebra 1 now, and Calculus during your senior year, there is a direction here for your future.

Yes, Emily, there will be sacrifices, but with your whole life in front of you, your family and church will pray for you to succeed now, and the new direction will open doors for you in college. I really believe this is the big picture God has in store for you.

Someday there will be another young student going through the same sacrifice you went through and you will be able to mentor and minister to this student so they can excel too.

Please read and meditate on Proverbs 15:22, Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisors they succeed.

Please continue to pray as we will for God's leading. Share with your parents, your pastor, and teacher about this, too.

Your servant in Christ Jesus.
