What should I do about about SSM?

I suppose most of us are affected by ssm in that members of our family or church are in businesses that could be asked to provide services for weddings. I admire those who take a personal stand against such activities but I am not sure where I stand. If I were an electrician, I would provide my services to a residence even if I knew it was being used for illegal or immoral purposes, (Is that a similar situation?) And yet if I were a photographer, I would probably decline to photograph a ss wedding. I suppose for me the cut off comes between providing goods used at a ss wedding (cake, flowers, etc) and actually having to attend the event. I am wondering what conclusions others have arrived at on this issue.

From reading what you've posted. It appears to me that you have a handle on the subject. Weddings, pictures, flowers etc. are not necessities of life and one you may choose to disassociate oneself from these commodities. However, food, utilities, etc. can be the difference between someone living or dying and should never be denied.

Regardless of the situation. One should remember to always have communications and dealings in this dark world as an Ambassador that you are. With Love. For our Lord had compassion to the lost. We should as well. Keeping in mind that but by the grace of God there go we.

This is like being caught between the Rock and a hard place. Spend some time with God the Father on this and allow Him to direct your steps. Roll all of this over unto Him and trust it to Him and he will cause your thoughts to line up with His will and then your plans will be established and succeed.

He may say go here and place you in a divine apointment where you might just be His voice and see a life turned around........Then there is the flip side............Do not hide your love for God and jesus. Talk about Him in a love attitude. Dont go around telling them how bad they are - Go around telling them how Good and Loving God and Jesus is..........

I mean what is the worse thing thast could happen ? The word gets out about you and no one calls you to photo shoot a ssm... Problem solved !! That is if you were a photographer

Thanks for your comments which I think are very sensible.
As for the worse thing that can happen if one chooses not to provide a service, it seems hefty fines which could destroy a small business have been imposed in some cases. One person I've heard about even ended up in jail.

Ah I think you missed a little portion to what is the worse that could happen..
I had said one can talk about God constantly. Not telling them how bad they are but How Great and Loving God is. Keep Praise and Glory on your lips constantly. THEN...........you know the word will get out about the photographer who is a motor mouth about God..............THEN if they call you - you know you have an open door to talk shop (with out condemning them)

Now for the worse thing that could happen - They Do Not Call You Because They Dont Want To hear About Gods Love - then no fines - no jail - no hastle......... that was the point
