What was the purpose of Jesus coming to Earth and dying?

What was the purpose of Jesus coming to Earth and dying?

Scripture is clear, Jesus came to destroy sin (the works of the devil) in our lives so that we could live in perfect union and fellowship with God.

And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might DESTROY the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. (1 John 3:5-9)
You must be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:48)
We become perfect and free from sin through faith in Christ's one time sacrifice where He died to set us free from our sin.
By his one sacrifice he has forever set free from sin the people he brings to God. (Hebrews 10:14)
God saved you by his grace WHEN YOU BELIEVED. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. (Ephesians 2:8-90

Thanks in advance!
Dear Marston,
Here are some verses that will help.

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!" For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:19-21 NLT

With the Love of Christ Jesus.
