What Woulde You Do?

What would you do if Jesus came to spend some time with you. If Jesus came to your house to spend a day or two.
If He came unexpectedly I wonder what you'd do?

This is an interesting question for me. I would give him the best room in my home and invite my christian and non christian friends to come and meet Him. In this way those who do not believe in Jesus may come to know Him.

Hi there, a very interesting question.

I would offer Him something to drink, and then immediately jump right in and ask for His help on issues that are a hinderance in my walk with Him. I would take notes ask Him to bless me, then let the rest of the family have their turn. We would then all sit at His feet and listen and listen and listen and listen, then i want Him to swing me around like a child, make me laugh till I cry and then I want to sit on His lap with His arms wrapped around me and fall asleep with my head on His shoulder.

Then I would take Him to go visit friends and those busy seeking and in need of deliverance and healing. I know just His presence alone in their homes will bring the needed results.

And of course, it would look like i have just undergone plastic surgery because of the smile that JUST WON'T QUIT!!!!

The bible informs us that Jesus appeared incognito, very often to people.

If he did appear would we recognize, would we know him? He has appeared among men before and was not recognized.

"Some have ministered to angels unawares" says the bible.

So what can we do? Carry on as normal I guess. Being a blessing to all who come our way.

Jesus himself may well be amongst those we meet.....and whom we bless in Jesus

If He showed up in all His glory as He did on the Mount of Transfiguration (see Mt 17:1-8), I'd either collapse or become a babbling idiot as Peter did. If not, if He came to me like He came to the two men on the way to Emmaus in Luke 24, I wouldn't recognize Him because the only images I have of Him are artists' conceptions.

So, it boils down to this: If He came to my apartment, I'd probably treat Him like I treat other people because I wouldn't recognize Him right away.
If I'm ill-mannered toward others, I'd be ill-mannered toward Him. If I'm loving and compassionate to others, I'd be loving and compassionate to Him.

It is not my intention to offend you in any way. However, your post raised a serious concern in my mind.We all, I'm sure, are familiar with the legend of Santa Claus/Father Christmas, etc. As children, we sat down once a year, wrote out our Christmas lists and spent hours in anticipation of receiving what we wanted. Sometimes we stooped to bribery by setting out milk and cookies for him. However, we weren't seeking relationship with him.We were only in it for the goodies.

Your post brought that to my mind. It seemed to be all about getting from Jesus - little about giving to Him. My wife has a close church going friend who treats Jesus this way. She prays a lot, but only to get things for herself. I pray that she comes to her senses before it is eternally too late.

We need to take our cues about how to approach God from the Bible (see Rev 4:12 & Mt 6:9,33). Many people who have been sitting in pews and jumping through religious hoops for years seeking favor from Him are going to be shocked when the Lord returns.

"Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform nany miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew (had intimate relationship with) you. Away from me, you evildoers!' " (Mt 7:22-23)

I'd ask Him to forgive all my sins and bring me to heaven
I'd also request that He preach to my family,and hopefully,baptize us all

and I'd ask Him how my friend is doing,and if she's in heaven

Wow, this is a good question!

I'm not sure what my reaction would be,.... but what comes to my mind right now is that I would just open the door, and look at Him,... I think I'd be speechless, and then I'd just hold Him tight, just give Him a very long tight hug. I'd say I'm so sorry, I'd just burst into tears....

Then I'd invite Him to come in, and just give Him the best of what "I have", ask Him if He wants something to drink or eat...if He's tired,... I don't know... I think I'd be so shocked I wouldn't know what to do, and I'd be asking stupid questions.
After my nerves are gone,.. I would love to sit and have a nice relaxed conversation with Him, with a cup of tea or something like that.... so nice...

Id throw a party, or I might organize something for him, like a barbecue with church and college friends, or anyone, I would open my house in His honor

that is a fantastic question.
I suppose I couldn't ask any 'why' questions because everything is the way it is for a reason.
and i wouldn't need to tell Him about myself because He already knows more about me than I do.
So i guess I would take Him outside so the world could share the amazing moment.
Then I would thank Him over and over and over again for EVERYTHING!

And at the end of the day He will already know what your going to do because He would have put it in your life plan that He already has for you.

I've fantisized about this nonstop since becoming born again last year. I've decided that I'd do the only thing I could do - I'd fall on my face and worship Him.

I would probably fall at his feet in worship...who knows...maybe he would raise me up.

Then, I would say 'Jesus, where do you want to go?' Maybe we'll go to places I've never gone. Maybe as we go people will follow us, asking what is going on? Who is this?


But that is what I want to happen all the time...not because of me BUT because of JESUS!!
