What you did/do look for in a mate.

Was reading a thread from a male asking what females look for in a husband/mate, and was thinking it would be good for everyone to contribute what they had looked (or are looking for) for in a mate, be it male or female.

Being a male I looked for, in the order of importance:
1. Proclaiming without embarresment that they love the Lord.
2. Hard worker
3. Not caught up in material things (a big problem with many that I have known)
4. Doesnt complain much.
5. Loves without restraint toward her spouse and kids.
6. Willing to stand up for herself in life.

Not necessarily in the order of most importance, though #1 is definitely the most important.

1. Loves the Lord more than she loves me/or will ever love me for that matter.
2. Desires to raise a number of Godly children
3. Definitely not lazy
4. Content with living a simple life, wholly devoted to serving the Lord in even the most menial of ways.
5. Not caught up in the Christianity of this world, but knows who her Lord is apart from all the nonsense that is done in the name of Christ.
6. Not a gossip/busybody

So I seek Jesus to tie the knot

• Family oriented
• Hard worker
• Mature. Classy.
• Health oriented
• Sacrificial
• Faithful to her Jesus, spouse, family
• Good sense of humor

I have found that even looking for these things can leave you in a place you do not want to be. So I wised up !!
I gave that to God and concentrated on Him. One day He sends me to minister to a lady and I did and 6 years later I am engaged to her. Funny how things work when you give it to God !!
