What's In A Dream

I really didn't know where to post this. I hope this is ok.

A pastor from a church I sometimes preach and teach at had a dream concerning me. He had no interpretation for the dream.
I have been praying, seeking God, meditating and reading the scriptures but have recieved no answer. I thought I would share it here (perhaps someone has the gift of interpretation)

This is how the pastor told it to me:

In his dream he saw me as Paul after he was made blind and Annanias came to him. He heard the words "he is a chosen vessel unto me"
During his dream the following scripture was impressed on his mind with emphisis on the boded verse:

Isaiah 41:
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.
12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
13 For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
15 Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.
16 Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the Lord, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
18 I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:
20 That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

If God gives you insight, please share it. If not, please help me pray.

rejoice!

@revbrad why are you rattled by the other man's dream?

be faithful be found faithful
if the Lord has a plan (sounds silly that - the Lord does have a plan!) then He will perform it to perfection
the other man had the dream and it might be that the Lord was talking to Him about something

your part is to be the man of faith and love and thanks
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4 (read through a bit further to verse 9)

The Lord works through dreams at times.

I am not rattled, just seeking to see if the Lord sent a message through this man to me.

There are accounts in the Bible where God sent one a dream but another the interpretation of the dream.

Do not fall to idols. Find peace in communion with our God, the one who makes you holy, the redeemer of faith. Be you not weary, but as Rev. said REJOICE!

Have you been resisting doing or going somewhere for the LORD? The passage in my opinion, seems to have some calling. Is there some threat to you from some person attacking you? The "Do not fear, for I am with you." is clearly said.

Remember this was originally given to Abraham. I take the dreams of other's not to seriously. I have an issue that He did not hav a direction or meaning to his drean. It might have been the onion and mexican hot pepper sandwich he ate before going to bed? Blessings

Scripture has many many examples of dreams being sent by the Lord to His people. I believe in the power of dreams as one of the venues for God to speak to us. Most people in this day and age disrespect this venue, and they shall not recieve any dreams as they disrespect the dreams that God might send. But fortunately God can pick many ways to speak to us, and dreams are not the only way. No doubt the biggest reason so many have no faith in dreams being sent of the Lord, is that its easy for charlatans to use this method to forward either themselves spiritually, or someone else. Deception is so easy for this method, that people give up on it meaning anything and would rather rely on scripture only. Yet for those christians who trust the spiritual/physical comparisons found in scripture as a guide; and of the Holy Spirit to guide them (the pharisees trusted only scripture and it didnt do them any good), dreams can help us greatly in our christian lives. Yet for those without faith in dreams, have faith in something of the Lord, scripture, the Holy Spirit, spiritual leaders which poke at your spiritual morals, for without faith, our religion is empty and worthless.

This lady whose church I go to (I am in Georgia) knows how to interpret dreams. She also holds a class on it with teaching materials. She may be to advise you over the phone since you are in Missouri. The ministry is Mary J. Ministries -she has a facebook page.

Joseph was spoke to in a drean several times. It took real faith and the knowledge that it was truely the LORD ALMIGHTY has spoken. Danile told what the dreans ment, but unless there is a genuine meaning to our present day dreans I believe I would highly question if it was really God speaking before moving on it. Dreans that are genuinely from the LORD will never be different that Scripture. I believe that dreams are far and few in today. I have experienced a few times when The Lord woke me and I knew what I was to do, even though I did not remembering a dream. Every time it was aserious situation that I got there just in the exact time I was needed. Blessings.

I take the dream seriously for several reasons and it contains scriptural elements.
The ancient Hebrews grouped things by behavior and not sight.
The elements described should be judged by what they do and not how they appear.

John 7:24 Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly."

Pharaoh's dream is a good example, how did Joseph know seven cows was speaking of famine?
If you picture a cow in your mind then your judging by appearance and that is not judging correctly according to Jesus.

Now,what is the cow "doing"...he's eating,right? Yea..because that's all cows do.
Josephs ancient Hebrew mind heard..7 pig outs..7 starvation.

If I interpret your dream by "do" I would have to say you recently cried out to God in genuine love and he has heard you and that's why another pastor delivered the dream because you would doubt it's authenticity if it came to you.You would write it off as the snack you had speaking to you.But when a pastor feels it is worth telling you then there is a gravity of responsibility for him to weigh out whether this was really from God and whether he should or even needed to act upon it.My guess is he wrestled first.I think he did the right thing and I feel you are in seeking God not just for interpretation but whatever you had been seeking for recently.

I don't want to tell you what it I think it means though because I know you don't trust me so you can't receive what I say.
But try plugging in the ancient Hebrew mind and you will see it very clearly.

Well, the seven cows came out of the Nile (which was basically worshipped as the life giver to all Egyptians), so seven fat cows would be seven years of plenty of food
recieved by the regular flooding of the Nile, and then seven years with it raining much less, and no flooding to produce the food to fatten the cows, so seven more years
of famine to complete the 14 year period.

I had some dreams once that were from the Lord where I was in a hosptal. A place of healing and caring for the health of others. There were many people there, all respectful, and caring, but then angry arguements started and they turned into zombies, and whoever they attacked became zombie like, attacking others around them, I managed to get out of the hospital before I was attacked by one of these zombies, but it wasnt easy finding my way out. I had a brother in the Lord tell me there was no way that could be from the Lord because there werent anything stupid like a zombie in scripture. Heh, apparently he had never even thought of Ezek 37 which was a vision Ezekiel had of the valley of dry bones.

But really, God uses whats in our minds from what we know, to speak to us. The only reason God would use something straight out of scripture would be that, that person is so knowledgable of and regularly into scripture, its become more real to him than the physical world we live in.

By the way, the interpretation of that dream was simple. I am involved in several christian forums where a lot of people like to argue unnessasarily. The place of healing was those forums (for the most part), but sometimes arguing gets out of control and becomes like a place of death where those who were alive in Christ become like the undead, from life to death, for they become like the pharisees which Jesus spoke of in Matt 23:27-28

27“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

The Lord didnt want me to be a part of that needless arguing, and He warned me so in that "re-occuring" dream. Once I got it, the dream stopped.

hi bro brad
been chewing the bread
about what the dream said
from another man's bed
something may be happening or going to happen which the pastor is going to be looking around and wondering who to trust and who is on his side
or more properly, who is in His side

it may be about a remnant, being you
a reassurance for the pastor man

could be right could be wrong

how does it sit with you?
Maybe another has a similar reply?

oh yes, about the being rattled, it was a friendly term, a local tongue, being rattled is not offensive
and as I said before, be faithful and be found faithful, bro

and
In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5

This is Mrs TS I agree with the last post from Eddy fire. God chooses his vessels, servants. Do not fear any that come against Gods servants God will vanquish. Check Jeremiah 33:3 andJoel 2:28 ask God and he will let you know anything you need to know. Gods blessings be upon you!

@revbrad

if it helps, during a sermon/message this morning the Scripture about Saul/Paul and Ananias was used

13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: 14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: Acts 9:13-15

with another Scripture pointing out we shouldn't consider anyone beyond Jesus

my take for you is to ask if there is a thing you dislike and even preach against and would not accept as a Christian?
long-shot here, christian gays? People into divorce/remarriage? Calvinists? Catholics? different cultural peoples? Jews?
Pentecostals? Non-Pentecostals? etc

and if so-
you know
we don't have to
-are you going to be called out to reach out to them and take the Gospel to them
and your pastor friend has been given the word to not fear approaching you?
might be if you have an aggravation against any, to let the Lord blind you to it and open your eyes to His call
this can be all part of the previous reply about a remnant as agreed by Mrs TS (thank you)

That seems accurate to me and I love the blinding toward things we find offensive part because the dream is not a rebuke it's a heads up.
The ability to change diapers without puking is a gift.
