Hello,

When bad things happen in your life I read on TJ that God let this happen so you can get close to him ?

Some very bad things happened to me in the past. Do you think God let this happen so I would find Him ?
I realised and had to admit to myself it turned me bitter and hard...
Although I try not to be like that. It was one of the reasons why I turned to God, so I'm thinking about that a lot.

Does anybody know what part of the Bible I can read concerning this ? Or what kind of prayer I can say to ask for the bitterness to go away ?
I'm a new Chistian, so I don't know yet where I can find it. And I also have difficulties with making a good payer.
So if you can help me with this, it would be very appreciated !

Many people wonder about that, in fact I used to blame God for the pain in my life until I learned that verse by heart,
Romans 8:28
" And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Paul said we KNOW, in ALL , God WORKS, for the GOOD, of those who LOVE him.

I wrote it that way wanting to highlight a few words, Satan can try and ruin our lives, but only GOD rebuilds everything around us.

They're only tests, and tests if are from God, then they are sent to teach us something and make us stronger.
If God allows Satan to throw a bomb into your life, God will try to sheild you from it, Satan can NOT test you without God's permission.

Everyone who had bad incidents or soforth in his/her life truly became stronger and with much understanding, knowledge and most of all, compassion and faith!

Whenever a storm rages in your life, ask Jesus to STAY in your ship and throw yourself into his arms, he may not calm the storm, but he'll calm the child, calm you.

Hi Mirjam,

You ask a very important question.

Some very bad things happened to me in the past. Do you think God let this happen so I would find Him ?

It appears that a misunderstanding needs clearing up.
It is important to read this carefully.

Saying God lets bad things happen to you or anyone else, gives the impression that God is not very nice.

God has done absolutely everything possible to save us from all harm and bad things. We can not for a second endure the thought that God lets bad happen to anyone.

I want you to stop for a minute and consider God.

Is God big? Can you measure Him?
Does He have uncleanliness in Him?
Can anyone stand before Him ?
If He came to earth now to change everything for good, who would survive?

Now, God did come to earth... in Jesus . Though He was spottless and pure, He took all punishment for sin upon Himself.....and died for us, that we could be free.....
This Jesus made the world and it exists because of Him in every sense of the word. He is what you call mighty.... all mighty...Almighty God.
Jesus did come to earth and He did change everything for good.
This may be hard to grasp when you look around the world.

There is one obstacle in the way of positive and real change. That obstacle is us...... People.
Now, we can go deeper into this and say it is because of sin, and deeper again and say it is because of Satan.
But when it boils down to the truth, it is us who is the problem.

We all have a choice of who we will serve.

Now, that is not to say that a person who gets attacked is the problem. The victim is not to blame. But, you see, we are the human race. We are not just you and me and a few others.

Sure, the devil is a liar and thief. Sure, many bad things happen due to the devil and his destructive ways. But it is mankind who resists God.... or more to the point, resists Jesus.
Now, Jesus is the way the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except by Him.

* So if Jesus is the way, resisting Him leads where?
* And if Jesus is the truth, resisting Him ends up with what?
* And, if Jesus is the life.....well, resisting Him is....?

You see, people want all God has, and all He has given, all He will give, all He has done good, all He promises...... but they don't want to have to lower themselves to go to Jesus and believe in Him, that God sent Him, that He is the way...that He is the truth...that He is the life....they do not want to accept that NO MAN can come to God except by Jesus.

So, what situation are they in?

Is there safety outside of God?
Perhaps there is fear.... in fact, there IS fear and a LOT of it.

Take another look around this world and you will quickly see that fear has a VERY big part in all wrong. Nearly every bad thing that a person does has it's beginning in fear.

There is no solution known to man for eradicating fear besides Jesus.
There is ONLY one way that a person can be free from fear..... by accepting Jesus, God's only begotten Son, who God gave unto this world because He loved the world so much.....yes by accepting Jesus and believing.

Why do bad things happen? Because people do not believe. It is our fault, not God's.

Now.....the beautiful part...... God loves us...... and,
He will never stop loving us...and
He constantly calls and woos us to Himself and is the only One who can turn all bad things around for good. Everything that happens in our life, He is loving and caring and often hurting as our Father in heaven.....desiring only for us to call upon Him in Jesus Christ the Lord.
He is the only One who can pick up a broken life and make it better than it was before it was broken.

NO , God does not let bad things happen to us so that we find Him.

There are too few workers out there, too few to take His love around and testify to Jesus. So, as a result, too many suffer terrible things needlessly before crying out to the Lord who they resisted for far too long. Too many people do not care about others, and do bad things to each other.

God can only come one more time to clean up this mess we make as a people called the human race... and when He does come..... it will be with fire to clean ALL unrighteousness from everything...everywhere.... and no-one will be able to stand before the Lord to prevent Him purging the earth.

One little sin started it all. Only one.

In order to thoroughly ensure that not one little sin remains, He has no choice than to utterly purge this world and all in it.

That's a very serious call.

So, in the meantime, we will see wickedness and bad things happening, and will hear more and more of How God in His love restored that which was broken.

Will you pray for people and ask God just how you can help others for Him ?

Bless you...><>

Thank you for your answeres ! I needed some time to think about them, but I think I understand now.

bound by satan

simple answer is
16And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond?
Luke 13
1There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? 5I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

blood mingled is an reference to Rome iron and clay Jew of Dan 2:43
Galileans were rebellious to Roman rule
18 is a number of oppression and overlord
the only other Siloam is the Pool of Siloam it is suggested that the 18 died in the holy pool.

6He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. 7Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? 8And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: 9And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

3 years is same as days with him in the earth
We are in the time of the gentiles when he will dig, then dung and check for fruit awaiting the cut down as he was cut down for Us.
the blind man sent to the pool of Silaom had clay spit in his eyes

10And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. 11And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. 12And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. 13And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. 14And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought: to workin them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. 15The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his *** from the stall, and lead him away to watering? 16And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond? on the sabbath day? 17And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
bowed see Isiah 49:23
Note:daughter of Abraham woman of Infirmity 18 years bound and loosed
the Eastern gate Eze 44:2 The LORD said to me, “This gate shall be shut; it shall not be opened, and no one shall enter by it, for the LORD God of Israel has entered by it; therefore it shall be shut.
Eze 46:1 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “The gate of the inner court facing east shall be shut the six working days; but it shall be opened on the sabbath day and opened on the day of the new moon
so if he did as the pharisee said He the door would not be opened to their knocking and saying Lord Lord.
Note:6X3=18

Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it? 19It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.

remember the Parable of the Sower

20And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God? 21It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

a woman 18 years maybe
leaven is unclean as a gentile in the Temple a hidden Gentile as Paul was accused of doing.
3 as in days or years or thousand years as in time of Gentiles

22And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. 23Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. 28There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. 29And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. 30And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

strait gate is the path into and through the Temple north to south and south to north read Eze 46:9 and understand.
iniquity=lawless=Gentile nations
they come from east west north south Eze 49:9-12 talking of the Gentile Kings and princes the lost sheep.

31The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee. 32And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected. 33Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem. 34O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! 35Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord

depart hence from me you worker of iniquity
third day... until...as in the fig tree that will dry up they must enter as a Gentile not a Jew just as Paul said and they did not listen to him either.
