When ministering/witnessing online in a forum (I'm refering to Multiply.com) how do I know when to call it quits with a person who is basically very verbally abusive to me?

I keep on posting articles about Christianity, and sometimes my life in general, and this woman does nothing but answer my posts. At first she is gentle, but when I answer her back she immediately starts verbally abusing me, saying that I don't know anything...that I am mis-interpreting the Bible, that I am not a Christian, etc. I notice that she doesn't go on anybody elses forum (or space). She only comes to my page. It's like she is on a mission to destroy me.

I've considered shutting down that website altogether, but I have a few contacts that I don't want to lose.

The thing is, also, that just this woman alone makes me want to quit multiply altogether. I know that's what she wants, so I am not going to do it, but sheesh!!!!

I don't really know your answer, but I have this to say.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

God Bless you.

That sounds like something that you should decide after some alone time with God. We are blessed when we are persecuted so wherever He leads you there will be a blessing waiting.
Is it a question of throwing pearls before the swine or seeding a hard field? Honestly I try to let the Holy Spirit guide me on that. Sometimes He wants me to move on and others He leads me directly into the very thing my flesh dreads. As long as you are following Him my friend you cannot go wrong.
You are in my prayers my friend.
Many blessings in Jesus Name,
your brother Larry.

when the enemy comes against you that means you are doing good for Gods kingdom. that means your are giving God glory. it means fruit is growing on the branches.

lift your hands and give thanks God is using you.(it will make the enemy even more miserable too!!! kinda a bonus)

I'm new here to this forum, but the first thing I see is your pride is hurt? Don't like it when people disagree with you. Become frustrated when they don't make sense of what you're saying and they don't try to? Do they call you names or insult your intelligence?
What would you do if the next time if several people pick on you?

With some people, it seems like its not worth it...but it is. You let them make the decision to leave or they may come around and see what you're all about. She likely knows what she is doing and this looks like a great test for you, and your choices. As you already know Jesus knows what is going on, give it over to him and change your thoughts or feelings. We become less that He may become more.

I've had people swearing at me many times, to my face. I know where it comes from.

Like it or not apparently you are ministering to her, in some way.

Perhaps you should pray for something special, just for her, ask her some questions, etc.:star:
