When the devil screams in your face

Off and on I feel like the father of lies is screaming in my face. Any and every lie that leads away from God is purposly set before me and others. Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed. It can be disheartening, distracting and at its worst even make me question my faith.

My question is when do I simply cover my ears and when do try to be the voice of truth in the midst of the smoke and mirrors?

Specifically today I was looking on amazon.com at some Christian books and I agian noticed the various discussions about Christianity at the very bottom of the pages. Of course this is a secular site with believers, non believers, and people who are purposly out to slam God in every single way. Reading some of these discussions has been quite disheartening and confusing.

Aside from the ones out to try and disprove God and the Christian religion; there was one I was reading today titled "The problem with Protestantism", clearly written by an angry Catholic. Most of the things he was saying were so far from the truth I was simply appauled. I won't get into any details but he was indirectly calling every non Catholic Christian denomination heretics. Nothing he was saying was backed up Biblically.

To make matters worse some of the people arguing against him were clearly misinformed "Christians". One of them even stated that he believed there is more than one way to God. Although I didn't read all 10 plus pages in the debate I didn't see anyone backing up their opinion with scripture.

My specific question is should I have tried my best to be the voice of truth in this misinfromed, heated debate on a secular website??? It can be hard for people to see the light if they have thier heads in a puddle of mud.:coocoo: When should I draw the line and choose my battles and when I should I simply look the other way?

Hey, you're just confused by the devil that's all. Don't over complicate matters. You're just burdening yourself, but I'll get to it later.

Firstly, you've mentioned about Satan screaming in your face. While you don't have to actually worry that Satan HIMSELF is at work, know that he has minions that are fallen angels that do the same things as he does. These demons have but zero power in putting you in a state of failure.

Let me ask you, dear son of God. Do you trust the word of liars more than you do God's? Has God not promised that all believers have to do is to stand fast and seek first His Kingdom and all those will be added unto you. (Psalms 91 : 1) <-- Remember 911? In times of disaster, God is there to shelter. Now, if you believe like I do, that God never keeps his back turned on his promises, then rejoice, because that is all we have to do!

When you're in confusion, don't consult other people. Being a spiritual hitch-hiker is what many confused new Christians do when they don't know what to do. That's fine, but why go to an extended network when you can contact the big man upstairs himself?

How can you spread knowledge and teach others when your footing is rocky? When you seek the Lord, just invite his presence, His peace will manifest. In that peace, all things will be clear. God imparts wisdom to those who diligently seek it. That means spending time with His Word. Jesus also mentions sitting well. When you sit well, you build your foundations. Only when you're secure in your footing, will you be able to use the wisdom from God and Knowledge in the Word to teach the secular and unbelieving people.

Let us get back to my first statement about making trouble for yourself. I can see that you're probably trying your best to defend God. In my experience, I've always tried to give the best proper answers with a sense of not wanting to 'let god down' and if possible guide that unbeliever to the truth. So for your case, when you've showed them once, showed them twice, but they've no interest in wanting to know the truth but argue, leave them. Once you've planted a seed, you can go.

What I learnt now is that God doesn't need to be defended. We do. Who but God can shelter us from the fears of the world? Who can keep us safe from the rocking waters, the storm and everchanging world of the secular? Your identity is not placed upon the shaky wavery things of the world. God says you are, therefore you are.

And you are the righteousness of God in Christ. That is enough of a 'right' we need to come boldly before Him to ask for spiritual revelations and wisdom we need to go about our daily lives.

Satan is no longer of effect. When Jesus died, he bore the judgement and payment, therefore there is nothing the devil can use against you. He is symbolised as a roaring Lion, meaning what? He can't bite.

If He can't bite, let him develop sorethroat while you rest in the peace of the Lord.
