There are moments in our lives when we become transfixed with the worldy object which God helped us create. It becomes an obsession and we will forget all of our responsibilites in the process. In the Ten Commandments, it states, "thou shall not have no other Gods besides me". I was inspired to write this due to a television program whiched showed some addicted young men who played games non-stop and ended up placing God out of thier lives and thier marriages fell to pieces. It was a very depressing show to see these guys "worship" these computer games which meant more to them than God.
This strange practice is referred to as idolatry and a good example would best be found in exodus 32 when it describes the golden calf. When we forget the face of our lord, we turn to something else for our attention and sometimes it is something that is considered very abnormal. A sister in christ i knwo is currently dealing with such a term and has replaced God for her personal gain but what gain is this? In galatians chapter 6, it says that "what we sow, is what we will reap". What she and others who still practice such an unethical practice will reap a field of famine and they will suffer.
I urge anyone who knows somebody like this, to reach out and attempt to help them before it becomes an addiction. Unfortunately, my friend has hit the bottom and it will take the love of our lord to help her out.
I shall pray daily and hope she will be ok.
You take care friends, thanks for your time
God bless you all and be safe in christ
