I am a christian, one of the most devote christians in my family. However one person in my family seems to be a constant problem in my family. He is an angry person who uses mental abuse and physical threats to impose is will on my family. I am the only one in my family that can handle him physically.I have tried to talk to him regarding god and scripture, but he becomes distant and blocks it out. He always gets a look on his face, like he would rather me shutup. He uses my christianity against me, thinking because i am a christian that he can do what ever he wants to my family and no one can stop him. He knows i think its wrong to fight ,but he's not leaving me much choice. Whats the best course of action here?

Matthew 5

Love for Enemies

43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor[h] and hate your enemy.'

44But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

thats what i can think of so far . . .where to turn to in the bible . . .but since we are chatting right now. . .i will get back to thinking later :shade:

God bless your attitude

Perhaps you should get christian family counseling or even private counseling for that one person. I don't know what he's going through, but he may need to "let go" of something in his life.

Physical threats? Turn the other cheek...to the telephone. Then pray for him while he cools his head and heels behind bars.

Theres a little scripture in the Bible that says God is not mocked...what a man sows he must reap.

My 1 penny worth. :)

The Road of Love

:rose: I travel a road a little like yours Brother in Christ. My father is verbally violent and refuses to listen to me speak of God. Now I get tongue tied whenever I try to broach the subject with him. What can we do Brother in Christ, but pray and hope in the Lord. Many people think Christians are weak, but this isn't true, as you probably know. We are fighting a war, with the patience that God gave us. I will say a prayer for you right now, not only that you get God's help with your brother, but that your faith does not waver because of him. It is so important to keep up your faith in these times. God bless you and may the Holy Spirit rejoice in you being you. Amen :rose:
