I understand fully where you're coming from brighthouse98, having campaigned for over 35 years on issues of Injustice, Oppression and Suffering i have had to confront Humanity's capacity for Evil so many times......... and so many times it seems to me that the only solution to stop the Evil being perpetrated is by force of Arms, and when the World did nothing, as in the Holocaust, or more recently in Cambodia under the Khmer rouge, or the genocide of the Tutsis by Hutu extremists in Rwanda, or the mass Killings in East Timor by Suharto's military, or the millions that have died as a result of conflict in the DRC due in the main to Warring militias fighting over the control of resource rich areas, the suffering and loss of life and destruction has been on a massive scale,........ but as Christians are we not commanded to follow Christs teachings, however difficult we find them, however much they go against our character or instinct, and it seems to me on this issue Christs commandment is clear, we are commanded to not resist Evil , to turn the other cheek if struck and to Love our Enemies and pray for those that mistreat and abuse us,......... as on so many issues of Faith, i know what i should do, but doing it, thats a whole new ball game, and perhaps on this issue i'm choosing to make a Deal with the Devil, cause if it was up to me to decide whether or not to use force to stop innocents being murdered, raped and tortured, id send the troops in every time.
