This comes as no surprise to me that we have now lost at least 10 soldiers at the airport in Kabul. The U.S, never takes the word of terrorists! And leaves them in charge??? Are you kidding me??? This President should not only be fired but should be held by the Military of treason!! For he obeyed and left in charge people who hate us. What do you expect!! And this is just the start!! As a Vietnam Veteran I could not be more angry at the stupidity of this administration!!!

Afghanistan has been in a state of War and Destruction for over 40 years now, it seems to me that the US and its Allies, including the UK, should never have been there in the first place. What has been achieved after 20 years and Trillions of Dollars spent, except endless bloodshed and Suffering for the Afghan people.
Jesus said when struck to turn the other cheek, and not to resist Evil , its a hard doctrine to follow, but looking round this suffering World we've created, War and Bloodshed seem to do little except breed more War and Bloodshed, so perhaps its time to choose a different path.

Sometimes i wonder if the statistically significant anomaly of how peaceful the world has been post wwII is because God knew what he was doing when he let 60 million people die in that war.

Its been 3 generations, few alive even remembers it.. Makes me wonder if we will see another big world war soon

Rad You make a fine point,as well as a true point! The problem with leaving as you well know is how we left. Now the terrorists are in control, and there goal is to MAKE people follow them or else death! No freedom at all for the people. So now we left it worse then when we started! We gave up an important base that could watch China as well?? Now we are almost blind to what is going on in the Middle East. Before Biden got in we had 18 months of no K.IA. ( killed in action) and the D.O.D. ( Department Of Defense) failed on a drone strike killing 10 innocent people!! And we lost 13 brave SOLDIERS! As long as there are people on this earth there will always be conflict of some kind sadly. When you are in Command then COMMAND!!! We even left our people as hostages!! Just nuts!! Now there is no path to freedom for the people of Afghanisten, and worse then that!!! NO HOPE!!

Hi joestue, the world has been far from being a "peaceful place" since WW2, while its true there hasnt been any major conflicts in Europe, due mainly to the fear of Nuclear destruction and the "Cold War", there have been many conflicts, a "Hot War", fought throughout much of Central and South America, Africa and the middle East and South East Asia resulting in Millions of deaths, tens of millions wounded and displaced and immense destruction and wrecking of Homes and Infrastructure .
If Jesus told us to "turn the other cheek when struck", and "not to resist Evil", i find it hard to believe God would sanction the slaughter of over 60 million people, the Holocaust and the destruction of entire countries just to achieve a tenuous and limited Peace founded on Hate , Suspicion and Fear.

Hi brighthouse98, from the little i know of the situation in Afghanistan it was screwed up from the first, back in 1979 when the then President Carter started to fund the Mujahidin, the so called "Fighters of God" , in a bid to undermine Soviet influence in the region, and during the 1980,s after the Soviet invasion , President Reagan dramatically increased the spending on Arms to these Religious fundamentalists in an effort to make the "Russians Bleed", and then to defeat and remove them from the country. From these beginnings were the Taliban born, and its been a catalogue of bloodshed, incompetence, greed, corruption and gross mismanagement of resources ever since. It seems to me the end of US forces in Afghanistan was just the final chapter in a story that should never have been started.
The real victims are the Afghan people, who have suffered greatly through all these long years of war and destruction, and i hope and pray that lessons have been learnt from this debacle, and the similar story in iraq and many other places that still suffer from the effects of Military interventions, long after the fighting has ceased.
As a Christian i believe im called on to reject violence, to be passive in the face of Evil and to love my enemies. Now thats real hard to do, cause when youre wronged, or you see the weak and defenceless suffering, you wanna hit out, fight back, but then, whoever said being a follower of Christ was ever gonna be easy,

Hi Rad I understand your view point,In the Body of Christ all view points are indeed needed to bring balance to any situation. I am a Warrior( Isaiah 42:13) I served 2 Tours in Vietnam in Special Forces,I have seen much more death then life, after becoming a believer I want what you want, but in the Middle East, these people only understand one thing. FEAR ME or DIE!

Since the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, the Lord had no problem bringing that fear to people, who he knew would not change.I could site many examples to you,but I am sure you know already. I have no doubt that you are a far better believer then I am,you are right, but 6 million Jews died because they would not fight, had they fought against the evil of Hitler, many could have been spared. If one want's something done, one must work for the things they need, and pray for the things you want. ( James 1:22)

The cost of freedom is never cheap, and I am willing to give my life to preserve the right we now have, even today at 68. I do not expect you to agree with me,I am just looking for you to perhaps understand me better is all. Love also corrects( Proverbs 3:1-14) 12-14! This is my favorite chapter in Proverbs. Hebrews also talks about this. The only way words can have power,is when an example of action is seen first. Before Jesus ever preached to the people he showed his kindness, love, and understanding,so that when he did speak his words had great power! This to me my friend is my mindset. All I can say is I am what I am by the grace of God himself!!( 1 Cor 15:10)

but in the Middle East, these people only understand one thing. FEAR ME or DIE!
A friend of mine went over to kurdistan a few years ago with a group of Christians who were sort of like doctors without borders but with guns this time.

Basically both him and one of the people he went with basically told me.. the problem is that the different tribes are stuck in child like minds. they couldn't unite to drive isis out of Kurdistan because they were more concerned about which neighboring tribe stole someone's cow last year.

I suspect afganistan isn't much different, with the average age of the country is merely 15.

So agree Joestue! And you know how little kids like to fight, espically when all Parents teach them this at birth!

I understand fully where you're coming from brighthouse98, having campaigned for over 35 years on issues of Injustice, Oppression and Suffering i have had to confront Humanity's capacity for Evil so many times......... and so many times it seems to me that the only solution to stop the Evil being perpetrated is by force of Arms, and when the World did nothing, as in the Holocaust, or more recently in Cambodia under the Khmer rouge, or the genocide of the Tutsis by Hutu extremists in Rwanda, or the mass Killings in East Timor by Suharto's military, or the millions that have died as a result of conflict in the DRC due in the main to Warring militias fighting over the control of resource rich areas, the suffering and loss of life and destruction has been on a massive scale,........ but as Christians are we not commanded to follow Christs teachings, however difficult we find them, however much they go against our character or instinct, and it seems to me on this issue Christs commandment is clear, we are commanded to not resist Evil , to turn the other cheek if struck and to Love our Enemies and pray for those that mistreat and abuse us,......... as on so many issues of Faith, i know what i should do, but doing it, thats a whole new ball game, and perhaps on this issue i'm choosing to make a Deal with the Devil, cause if it was up to me to decide whether or not to use force to stop innocents being murdered, raped and tortured, id send the troops in every time.
