Have anyone felt that you were revved up to start changing your lives for the better (of course, with constant prayers and/or counselling) just to end up sinking deeper into frustration after a "false start" ??? Well, I had. I have decided to leave a life of homosexuality and start anew. But it has been a year and till now. Im stuck with the defeat of my false starts: like an athlete in disbelief in seeing 4 years of training and dreaming gold only to be disqualified by a one second mistake. Anyone can shed a light here? help me to get rid of these feelings, shrug it off, and move on? Did God did'nt honor my pledge to make a 180 degree turn to be the person He wants me to be? I'll appreciate your kind 2 cents on this. - Jim

Dear brother Chaco

Sadly brother it was you who didn't honour your pledge, and you slipped....the Lord never fails us.

The tempter satan dresses up lust with beauty and desirability....and how easy it is to fall.

But brother, Jesus has saved you and that precious blood that saved your soul....covers all your sins. And now you know your weakness don't let it eat you up in guilt and frustration.....rather commit it to the Lord who will forgive you and provide you with the strength to resist temptation.

Rejoice in His promises,

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9

Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more John 8:11

The Lord bless you

Chaco, I am going to outline how we are born and how we received sin. Sorry if it's a bit long.

Lev 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Natural life, called soul life, is in the blood. Sin is transmitted through the soul life and not through the physical flesh, which is simply the vehicle that manifests sin. This life which is in the blood is contributed by the ***** of the males. Soul life is carried in the seed (*****)

Chaco, up until recently, I believed that gays and lesbians were not born this way. I actaually believed that was not the truth and was led to believe they used this phrase ''I was born like this'' as an excuse, well I was completely wrong. After recently reading a book, everything came to light on how sin sets in us, including homosexuality. It was a real eye opener to me, and has helped me in understanding, what is sin and how it sets in all of us.

Jesus died for you and your sin, and we need him. Jesus had perfect blood, Jesus' blood was completely sinless and it's the blood of Jesus that cleasnses us from our own sin. Jesus did not have an earthly Father, Jesus' Father, was God Almightly, and God Almighty is perfect right?

The umbilical cord is connected to the baby at the point where the baby’s belly button will be. It contains three blood vessels, one to carry oxygenated blood and nutrients from the mother to the developing fetus, and two to convey deoxygenated blood and waste products back to the placenta. The vessels are surrounded by a gelatinous substance that prevents kinks and knots from developing. The fetal heart, beating regularly by the fourth week, drives the blood to and from the placenta. While much passes in both directions between the mother and baby, their bloodstreams do not mix. Instead the mother’s blood flows into the placenta and surrounds the branching blood vessels that belong to the baby. Tiny molecules of nutrients and waste are exchanged between mother and baby by passing across the porous walls of the blood vessels.

(Rom 5:11) And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

1Jo 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Chaco, you have acknowledged your sin. This is a great step. Try not to be to hard on yourself. Take one day at a time, and don't think about tomorrow, just deal with today and get through that day.

Spend much time in prayer and in the God's Word, sacrifice other things and spend time with God. Cry out to our Heavenly Father and ask Him to help you. Ask Him to help change you. We need to renew our minds and that takes time.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

amen.

bless you brother, in Jesus name,

Sister WOL gave you the key, you need to back your decision with serious study of the word and prayer.

God bless you Brother Jim

Praise God.

I understand what you are going though. I have worked with lots of gay men. I think the important thing to remember is that the Lord is faithful and knows what you are going though.

You need to stop looking at (Gay Sex) as the sin though. Even if you were attracted to the correct sex, you still have to keep yourself away for sexual sins. Being gay has nothing to do with it, the pull can be just as strong.

All sin is going to lead to destruction. Not just being gay. I know lots of gay men that struggled with this. You need to keep yourself pure from any sexual sin, even if you have an attraction to the same sex. It is something extra the devil throws in to get our mind focused on the symptoms and not the cure.

As you make the decision to keep yourself for the Lord, and do what Julia posted (JSKM) then God will start to change you. His main goal is to make you more like him, not making you not gay (though that will be the end result, among other things the Lord needed you to change.). Don't think if you become not gay then everything is fixed. More confusion from the devil.
The permanent changes come from keeping your eyes on Jesus.

I use to drink like a fish. I was a christian though and knew that all that drinking was my downfall. So I did my best not to drink. I got so wrapped up in battling my sin, that I forgot to keep my eyes on him that can change me. I could go months without drinking, but it was on my mind constantly. That is still bondage.

Make a firm commitment to the Lord to keep yourself pure. Even if you were not gay you would still have to keep God first.

God will have something to work with. Then get your nose in the Bible, and feed your faith. Cut yourself off from all gay ties, don't even try to witness to them. Stay away from anything gay. Stay away from anything that is sexual in nature. Movies, TV ect.......... Do not feed the desire, but starve it.

It will not be easy at first, but expect to make a firm stand. This would apply to any sin that we are constantly trapped in. Not just being gay.
Starve it, don't feed it.
Jesus Is Lord
