Whether you are praying for the perseverance in faith of a family member, a friend, or even for yourself, the Lord’s faithfulness and strength are where you can find hope. Paul faced both spiritual challenges and persecution, but he didn’t look at his own experience, knowledge, or network for security. As he faced uncertainty for his own fate and the churches he planted, he looked only to God’s power to help himself and the early church stand strong in a time of suffering and struggle.
Hard times are coming, but God is more than able to sustain you, to encourage you, and to fill you with an understanding of His great love. Patient endurance for the low points of life comes from God alone, not from individual resolve. If you’re looking for a way to endure a difficult time, look to the Lord to guide you and to fill you with the endurance and love you need.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for the promise of Your strength and love in the moments when life becomes most difficult.
