Ephesians 6:11-18 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness in this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breast plate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; prayingalways with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
Brothers and Sisters,
How many times in our lives do we come across situations in our own lives that we sometimes place blame on others around us? Maybe we blame something somebody said or did to us for ruining our day or putting us in a bad mood, but the fact is there one behind the words and actions and he feeds off of our anger, hatred and sadness. There is nothing more that he loves than to see us miserable especially when we are having a good day and he sees us basking in God's love, peace and joy. Today I experienced a situation where these verses became really clear to me as to what they really mean. Today I left and was visiting friends and when I returned there was tension in my house. Blame was placed on a phone call for the tense mood that was there and soon more blame placed on someone in my home for the feelings of another being hurt. Now, we had all planned on going for ice cream today and we were having a great day up till that point. You see satan knew we were joyful and he knew we were going to have a good time
going out, so he used the words and actions of the caller on the phone to try to upset the person who answered. However, you can't place blame on the caller for the moods of the people in my house. We all have choices and decisions to make and in this case the person answering the phone chose to be upset. He gave satan his way and ended up being miserable and not having the good time when we went out.
You see my brothers and sisters satan is a thief and he seeks to take, kill and destroy, but we have a choice we can as the scripture says put on our whole armor of God and fight off the enemy when he strikes. Instead of getting upset we can instead tell satan in the name of Jesus he has no place in our lives and we will not be upset and allow him to steal our joy. Satan derives joy from our seeing us hurt and upset, and I for one am not going to give in to him or give him what he wants, instead I'm going to enjoy this life God gave me and be thankful for each and every part of it and when those times come that someone says something or acts a certain way toward me that could be hurtful or upsetting I'm not going to give into my emotions or feelings. Instead I'm going to keep on wearing that full and entire armor of God and choose to continue to be at peace keeping my joy intact and knowing there is nothing satan can do about it. People don't control us or our feelings we can choose to be happy or we can choose to be upset and miserable that choice is solely up to us and we need to understand it's not flesh and blood we are fighting and should be upset with, it's satan we are dealing with and his using of peoples words and actions to get to us. I encourage you all today don't give into those feelings of hurt, anger, bitterness instead choose to be joyful and thankful and enjoy the very life that Jesus died to give you. He came to give you life andgive it to you abundantly don't let the thief take that from you. Stand firm on the very word of God wearing that whole armor that God gave you so that when attacks do come my brothers and sisters you can indeed quench the fiery darts of the enemy.
God bless each and everyone one of you
AA
