Ephesians 6:11-18 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness in this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breast plate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; prayingalways with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints
.

Brothers and Sisters,

How many times in our lives do we come across situations in our own lives that we sometimes place blame on others around us? Maybe we blame something somebody said or did to us for ruining our day or putting us in a bad mood, but the fact is there one behind the words and actions and he feeds off of our anger, hatred and sadness. There is nothing more that he loves than to see us miserable especially when we are having a good day and he sees us basking in God's love, peace and joy. Today I experienced a situation where these verses became really clear to me as to what they really mean. Today I left and was visiting friends and when I returned there was tension in my house. Blame was placed on a phone call for the tense mood that was there and soon more blame placed on someone in my home for the feelings of another being hurt. Now, we had all planned on going for ice cream today and we were having a great day up till that point. You see satan knew we were joyful and he knew we were going to have a good time
going out, so he used the words and actions of the caller on the phone to try to upset the person who answered. However, you can't place blame on the caller for the moods of the people in my house. We all have choices and decisions to make and in this case the person answering the phone chose to be upset. He gave satan his way and ended up being miserable and not having the good time when we went out.

You see my brothers and sisters satan is a thief and he seeks to take, kill and destroy, but we have a choice we can as the scripture says put on our whole armor of God and fight off the enemy when he strikes. Instead of getting upset we can instead tell satan in the name of Jesus he has no place in our lives and we will not be upset and allow him to steal our joy. Satan derives joy from our seeing us hurt and upset, and I for one am not going to give in to him or give him what he wants, instead I'm going to enjoy this life God gave me and be thankful for each and every part of it and when those times come that someone says something or acts a certain way toward me that could be hurtful or upsetting I'm not going to give into my emotions or feelings. Instead I'm going to keep on wearing that full and entire armor of God and choose to continue to be at peace keeping my joy intact and knowing there is nothing satan can do about it. People don't control us or our feelings we can choose to be happy or we can choose to be upset and miserable that choice is solely up to us and we need to understand it's not flesh and blood we are fighting and should be upset with, it's satan we are dealing with and his using of peoples words and actions to get to us. I encourage you all today don't give into those feelings of hurt, anger, bitterness instead choose to be joyful and thankful and enjoy the very life that Jesus died to give you. He came to give you life andgive it to you abundantly don't let the thief take that from you. Stand firm on the very word of God wearing that whole armor that God gave you so that when attacks do come my brothers and sisters you can indeed quench the fiery darts of the enemy.

God bless each and everyone one of you

2Ti_2:26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Eph_6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Joh_10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

1Pe_5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Isa_9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isa_53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Eph_2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

1Pe_5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

We just say? Holy ghost cause peace to take over this home and put the right words in my mouth to speak. In the Mighty name of MY LORD JESUS CHRIST. Thank You LORD JESUS.

Greetings dear sister

Your post was very timely.....

That sneaky thief and liar the devil was having a field day in our household too yesterday
And how very quickly he seemed to get a hold on everyone so that reactions became selfish and fleshy
And the precious word of God seems to get thrown out of the window

How wonderful it is to claim our Lord's victory when we again focus on Him, putting self aside and letting His love reign victorious

Thou wilt keep Him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon TheeIsaiah 26:3

Hi AbbysAunt. This is an interesting post. However, it seems to me, Satan gets blamed for an lot of things I do not think he has anything to do with. From my study of the bible, it appears we are actually fighting against two things.

Firstly, Satan who wishes to turn as many people he can away from God, and to do that, he will not just make people unhappy. He will also make them deliriously happy, to get them to lower their guard and yield to sinful pleasures. Which leads me to the second point, the fallen sinful flesh. This can feel sometimes like a death match to the finish, especially if you happen to be fighting addictive harmful habits that can be described as works of the flesh. (Galatians 5:19-21)

In Galatians 5:16, (NASB) Paul wrote: "So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature." then he goes on to list the fruitage of the spirit in Galatians 5:22, 23: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." If we overcome our fleshly sinful nature by cultivating these qualities, like seeking peace, kindness and self control, especially in the family environment. Even if one family member, gives vent to some of the works of the flesh like "hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition." (Galatians 5:20) This does not mean the other person has to respond in like. Our sinful fleshly nature can give Satan a foothold into our family life, but we can stop him in his tracks by cultivating the fruitage of the spirit in our day-to-day life. Having a list of these qualities hung up on the wall can be helpful, when you want to remind others in the house hold what walking by spirit actually means for a Christian.

Satan and his demons are very powerful, but they are not omniscient; they cannot be in multiple places at once. The conflict Abby's Aunt describes comes out of our human brokenness, which began when mankind chose to be independent from God, thereby setting in motion our insane striving for power and domination.
