Who can take Holy Communion?

Hi Brothers and Sisters,
Is it possible for born again Christians to take Holy Communion in a Church of England Church?
Does anyone know the rules?

Jesus calls us to partake in the bread and the wine in memory of him. We have a family fellowship(Living Stones) and we break bread and share wine round our kitchen table. All believers are called to remember Jesus by breaking bread and sharing wine. I don't believe he gave any ritual as to how to do it.

So are you saying that we take bread and wine so will not forget about "Jesus" and the things He have done? Now is that the reason "JESUS said to do That" it is a yes or now question. If it is a yes! in which i agree. Next question it will be "How often did He tells us to do it"? So we can be clear what Jesus said? and not what we interpret what he said or what he meant. This is not a attack. But clarification of what Jesus said. The taking is so will not forget. Trevor i am not attacking. Because i haven't taken communion maybe over 10 years, and maybe twice in 20 years. But i drink a lot of grade juice. I do not drink any kind of alcohol. and i am not being funny ok. but i am telling the truth. i remember Jesus everyday and i do not think i will forget him unless i get sick or something. Then i do hope someone would share with me, that would remind me of Him and what he did for me. and serve communion with me.

Hi Ploughboy, We don't take bread and wine regularly we take it when I feel moved to do so. I am not interested in other peoples attitudes regarding this. Jesus calls us to do it and when I am moved to do so, we do. In our fellowshp we move in the Spirit of God, He is our yardstick. All the while He continues to Grace us with his presence, we know that we are right with him. We follow the written Word and we praise our Saviour. When I meet those who move in the Spirit, I am meeting my brethren. Many people question me regarding my understandings, but that means nothing to me, I answer to my Saviour, as I pray you do. I have been feeding on the Word for over fifty years, and my life, and the lives of our fellowship, has changed beyond recognition, that is my proof that the direction I am taking is right for our fellowship.

You asked a question and was more concerned about not being right in the church/denomination, although this shows your genuine concerns, always ask yourself, What Would Jesus do, What Would Jesus Say, the answer in in The Word. He never set an age limit he just tells us to do it in remembrance of Him. It is always better, always right to be right with God, right with our Lord.

Yes I understand what you've said. It's The symbolism of which the bread is His 'broken body' because that's exactly what what they did to him; They literally broke his body (physically) when He was crucified.
I haven't heard that particular symbolism before. It really brought it to life for me so that when I take Holy Communion, it will mean so much more because of the suffering He had to endure (having His body broken and his blood pouring out) to save us.

Anybody who is born again can take holy communion in anywhere, regardless of church, as long as that church know the meaning of it... the important thing to you is to make sure you receive Jesus as your personal savior and be baptized.
