"It is better to trust in God than to put confidence in men. It is better to trust in God than put confidence in Princes" Psalm 118 v 8/9

What am I reading here?

It is better to trust in God that to put confidence in men. To place your trust in ordinary folks like myself, for instance.

Do not do it, trust only in God.

It is better to trust in God than to put confidence in Princes. To place your trust in those who have had a good upbringing, education, have achieved a good standing in society.

Do not do it, trust only in God.

So what are we left with?

Trust no man, trust only God

I meet people today, young and older who have been 'taken in' in so many ways, by having trusted in the corrupt society in which we live.

Trust No One

Brother Stephen that was short and sweet.
Very nicely put, trust not unto anyone but unto God, The one and only.

There is no other that has the power that he has.

In my opinion I believe that piece of scripture is very simple to understand.

I just can't see how others can believe in a statue or in a person that cannot compare even close to God.

God Bless

Brother Stephen , i don't think this is a coincidence ?

yesterday night while jogging i was remembering what happened to me some years back, i was truly broken by some one i trusted and the Holy spirit ministered to me about Puting my Trust only in God.

Now i can't even blame the person for hearting me i felt it was me to be blamed for having over confidence on man , after all we human beings are limited.

One of the biggest lesson i got out of my life experience. God has my 100% trust now.

thank you for sharing

Thank you for that. That was very profound and it got me thinking. I learned something today... now to put it into practice, is that easier said than done?

Here's something else interesting about Psalms 118:8

Psalm 118 is the middle chapter of the entire Bible.

Psalm 117 is the shortest chapter in the Bible.

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible.

The Bible has 594 chapters before Psalm 118 and 594 chapters after Psalm 118.

If you add up all the chapters except Psalm 118, you get a total of 1188 chapters.

1188 or Psalm 118 verse 8 is the middle verse of the entire Bible.

Is this central verse not also the central theme of the entire Bible?

Wow Thankyou for pointing that out to us. Very interesting

The O.P drew our attention that not all folks are what they appear to be! Young people need to be aware of this.

It is better to trust in God than man. The key word is the word 'better'

Certainly there are some men that are trustworthy, and they have these qualities because they have been given this of God. They are still created beings and the possibility of falling always exists, until Christ returns.

God on the other hand is the eternal, never changing Creator. He is and will always be holy, just, righteous, loving, and faithful.

You can take what he says and trust in it forever.

Amen .
Yes , it is really true . Put our trust in God and not in man . Our God is a faithful God .
