Rom. 13:1-7
Submission to the Authorities
‘’1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honour.’’

1 Pet.13:1-17.

13Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, 14or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. 15For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. 16Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God. 17Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honour the king.’’

We have heard that the angels leave our car bonnet when we go over the speed limit in this rebellious age.

This is a warning that sinning has repercussions both naturally & spiritually..

We may snigger & giggle because of our embarrassment but I don’t think I have ever heard a ‘’ preach ‘’ that covers this topic.

Any suggestions how I might deal with my speeding propensity?

Ask for forgiveness & for any promptings felt to be responded to.

1Ti 4:7 Do not have anything to do with godless myths and fables of old women, but train yourself in godliness.

Col 3:25 For the person who does what is wrong will be paid back for what he has done, and there is no favoritism.

You are about to, sit up and pay attention

Any suggestions how I might deal with my speeding propensity?

Stop it.

(shortest sermon I ever preached, let all the moderators shout AMEN!)

(ahahaha, sorry i`m laughing my socks off at myself here)

Now I`m a silly donkey and I need to ask a silly question of my own...

Why does the modern day follower of Christ seem to always be looking for someone to walk down off a mountain with their faces all aglow, and bringing them some new revised list of 10 commandments,
or a 12 step program before they will simply obey Christ?

Who`s a rebellious child?

1Pe 1:14 As obedient children, do not be shaped by the desires that you once had in your ignorance.
1Pe 1:15 Instead, just as the one who called you is holy, be holy in every aspect of your life.
1Pe 1:16 For it is written, "You must be holy, because I am holy."
1Pe 1:17 If you call "Father" the one who judges everyone impartially according to what he has done, you must live in the fear of the Lord as long as you are strangers here.

Is`nt it funny how we`ll believe what the Speeding Ticket says,
but we`ll question what the Scripture Teaching says?
