Why are GPs unavailable?

I am able to see my dentist and optician as I need, face to face. No problem.

So what's the matter with the doctors surgery? Never an appointment possible, only telephone consultation if you are very very lucky. Otherwise they just refer you to 111 or hospital. It is just not acceptable.
I frankly dread being ill, especially if I had something really serious, because I do not believe I would be helped.

So what can be done? I am certain many are silently suffering and many many will die.

Must be a UK issue. I would attribute it to supply and demand. The demand for their services is greater than the number of doctors that are available.
The only way to solve it would be if there was an increase of doctors.

If you do have something specific that is happening in your life. I'm sure you would find Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus willing to pray for you here!

If you live under free health care, it can be more difficult to get needed health service in a timely manner, In the US you can get any surgery you want if you have the money to pay for it, first must see a general practitioner, who after you explain your problem, can set you up a consult with a surgeon in the needed field. The surgeon might have to evaluate your need for surgery, but typically if you have the money, you can convince someone to do it. Surgeries being expensive, most ppl have to have some form of health insurance that pays the bulk of needed surgeries, with you still paying some of the bill.
