The 8th king alone is named as the beast King
The 8th king is one of the seven
And goes to destruction ( perdition)
How is the 8th king one of the seven.?
One thing all the seven kings had in common is was the seven mountains or hills.
We are told five of the seven had already fallen ; and one is;
and another shall come after him but for only for a short time.
After Domitian which would be the 6 th king came Nerva the seventh king
He did only rule for a short time
1 year and four months.
And he had no blood successor but instead adopted a stranger
In this way rome declined after Nerva, being ruled by adopted strangers who in turn had no descendants, and who themselves passed on the rule of rome to adopted strangers.
The prophecy of st john in the book of revelation is only concerend with 7 kings and the seven hills assocaited with them, amd then the 8 th king who is one of the seven, but who goes to pedition, like judas iscariot and the man of sin goes to perdition,
In st johns day the Roman Emporor ruling was Domitian

in the prophecy.
