Why did the Spirit leave Saul?

I am doing a bible study and I want to understand why did the Spirit leave Saul? Is it because of his consultation with the seers or actually some other deep meaning is there? Pls help.

This departure of the Spirit of the Lord from Saul is mentioned here, at the recording of the fact that the Spirit of the Lord had come upon David, thereby marking and contrasting these two important events in the lives of Saul and David.( see 17:1 and 18:12 ).

' Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me,
seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?
And the LORD hath done to him, as he spake by me:
for the LORD hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:
Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek,
therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto thee this day.
Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines:
and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me:
the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.'

By looking up the name Amalek in the concordance, you will be referred to all references to him, as you know, and be able to look them up, and see them within their contexts, and thereby know why the Lord God was so against Amalek, and how and why Saul did not obey God in regard to him. This will give you part of the reason at least why God took His Spirit from Saul. Consulting the witch of Endor was one of the acts of disobedience which Saul committed, but there are others, I need to refresh my mind as to what they are myself, @smartammo.

King David was anointed to be King by Gods will - because God had commanded Prophet Samuel to choose someone and anoint them as King.

King Saul was then overcome and possessed by an evil spirit of jealousy, Saul also started a campaign to hunt David down and kill him, because of Saul's actions, David's life was in danger, living became a horrible sorrowful lonely and hard road, always running and hiding and living in fear and anxiety.
Also, God's commandment to Saul was to deal with a nearly 500 year old generational war, wherein the Amalekites waged a 500 year generational war against the Jews.

after 500 years of generational war against innocent people , God decided to completely destroy and exterminate the Amalekites - remove them from the earth.

the philistines also recently were attacking - the Ishmaelites also were attacking and Moab - it would be impossible for Israel to protect their families and children fighting waring nations who surrounded them with intent to exterminate them and their families, after 500 years of generational war against innocent people - God decides that every Amalekite would be killed, man, woman and child. He also decided that the Ishmaelite people would also be removed from the earth.

when we look at the survival of Israel and their families and children - we can see the importance that King Saul must obey, King Saul jeopardized and placed the Hebrew nation at risk by not obeying God - King Saul refused to make the future of the Hebrew families important and allowed the enemy who were attempting to exterminate the Hebrew people to live and continue their extermination plans and war against the Jews.

there is not a single speck or trace of any ishmaelites even ever existing in a real time, live event - a real time, LIVE historical recorded event in world history.

The people who are called ishmaelites never existed in a real time, live, historical real time record. not in a single place in any world history, not one single source outside of the bible, not one source exists, not one speck of any evidence in world history

the world historians and the writers of theology, “ only have a biblical account of record, “ the biblical record recorded in the bible - for a living presence of a people called ishmaelites living or existing in a real time on earth. The Bible alone mentions a LIVE RECORDED EVENT - a real time record - for anyone descendant of Ishmael - outside of the Bible - everything is diverted back to the past history - there is absolutely no LIVE RECORDED EVENT - or real time record of anyone on earth related to Ishmael outside of the Bible.

Until Mohammud and the Quran - Ishmaelites do not exist in any historical record outside of the Bible
