Words are powerful, for good or ill. Many people speak without thought. I particularly dislike swearing and find it terrible when Jesus Christ's precious name is used as a swearword.

Hello there,

It is sad to see the lack of love expressed in a forum situation such as this. For though a forum encourages discussion and debate by it's very nature, the fact that it is a Christian Forum should be reflected in the difference in attitude that is in evidence. There should be kindness and love, mutual understanding and respect shown.

As Christina2000 says 'Words are powerful' and can have a positive or a negative effect upon those who hear them. Mutual edification and encouragement should be the desire of each one of us towards one another. Even if we disagree on a doctrine, it is the word of God which is the Arbiter on such matters, and not ourselves.

Personal insult, casting doubt upon someone's salvation, or desparaging another's thought process because unlike our own, is simply not acceptable among believers on the Lord Jesus Christ.

There must be love, and grace among us

Are there words in the Bible that GOD has spoken plainly and those words are offensive and many Christian’s has change many of those words so they are not offensive to the church? Are there words that GOD has said in The Bible and many have refused to read those Words of GOD in Their Churches because those words GOD has spoken are to derogatory For many church people?

You see a lot of churches and Christian’s think they are more hollier than GOD. And many refuse to see GOD as The Creator of all Things. GOD is Also The Creator of All Languages both profane and The Holly The Pure and The un-pure The Ghetto vernacular and The Sophisticated Languages and The Primitive.

The Languages of The Goat, the Dog, The Sheep and The Wolf.

And all of The Languages of The Marine Mammals that Travel by swimming and deep diving the 7 Seas.

Why do you Think some of us know HIM as “The ALMIGHTY GOD”. And to The Oceans and Winds they know His voice because HE speaks Their Languages.
And can you guess who taught them how to. Speak and who gave them the ears to hear.

My mother and our neighbor who she was a Methodist pastor cussed.

I did not hear her the neighbor but see cuss out her grandson who was my friend. and she would tell you if the occasion was required, to speak in a language they understand.
i never heard my dad cuss one time in all my life and we work together for 10 years. But Mama prayed like Saint and prayed like a warrior and cuss like a sailor no body knew but me, my brother and my daddy. And we never thought about saying or telling others she did. Sing in the choir and pray like no bodies business. She had to deal with 3 devils, me my brother and my daddy.
Us little boys in the hood and the Boy Scouts would talk about how our holy church and praying mother cuss like sailors at us in the home. And every last one us got saved when we got grown. Every last one of us. Who’s mama would whip and cuss us out. We have come together one time in our late 50’s and talked about those days.

I often heard my Father say, 'damn', when walking the boards at night with cramp in his legs, and also during a struggle with a sheep which my Father was trying to manipulate through a gateway, in a small square of land at the bottom of our garden steps, one side of which was the gate, the other two high walls. That expletive was just the outpouring of an agitated spirit, with no object other than to relieve his feelings. God looks on the heart, and can therefore judge justly. So much which comes out of the mouth is sheer vanity, it has no substance.

God knows our feeble frame, He knows that we are but dust.

God calls a spade a spade, and doesn't cringe from using terms, and referring to situations, which our minds shrink from.

I have a profound aversion to one particular word that is used now by so many that it has almost become acceptable to the majority, which I will not put in print. I want to back away from people that use it, but if that person is in need of a Saviour, I must accept him warts and all. Far be it for me to allow my feelings over the use of a word to get in the way of reaching out to a soul in need of a Saviour.

My Father's twin, working on her treadle sewing machine, would sometimes get into knots, and would say, 'Oh, bacon, beans and chips!!!' Pouring as much frustrated emotion out in those words, that others would with words which were more offensive. It served the same purpose in giving vent to pent up frustration, but sat a little easier on the ears of others.

When someone has to resort to using words as a weapon to diminish his opponent and his argument by calling into question either his intelligence or his salvation, then there is something very wrong.

If an argument is sound, and can be verified by Scripture, then there is no cause for using words as a weapon, for the word of God itself is sufficient to verify the point being made. It is when an argument is unsound, or when insufficient study has been undertaken to confirm what is being said, that a person feels it necessary to resort to such means to gain the upper hand.

It is the flesh using the weapons of the flesh. Whereas the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but spiritual, and, 'mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds' (2 Corinthians 10:4) .

May I say the words of that Psalm remind me of Boney M singing one of the very few songs that came from scripture. I have to sing those words rather than speak!
They must have been great Christians to spread the Word so wonderfully.

I must agree. I particularly wince when Jesus Christ's precious name is used as a swearword. How extraordinarily tolerant we are. Other faiths wouldn't stand for it. People wouldn't dare.

This is interesting, if I understand correctly. Do you have evidence that bad or strong words were ever in manuscripts ready to be translated? If you are saying that the Church scholars toned them down? Or are you saying such words are actually in bibles but people refuse to read them aloud?

I have not seen such language - but do correct me if necessary. I would be interested in the referenced parts if you have them.
I use the New Living Translation and King James Bibles.

Let me say something in “Sanctification and Holiness” I been laboring on this tedious journey for over 44 years in “The Book”. Baptize around 8 by choice and not lead, Wanted to go to Heaven at The Age about 3 or 4 after going to a night service Funeral and Hearing The Minister Peace About Heaven for The Mission was All-ready in My Soul. Stop going to Church at The age of 16. Wanted no parts of The Hypocrites. My dad gave me permission to do so.
Had a “Miraculous” conversion at The Age of 26 in building of employment of over 200 plus people.

And still not in a church. But The power of GOD over whelm me. To run to my mother and told Her The Power that is in me is about To Explode. And she called her pastor and told him what was going on with me. And he told her to tell me to come to his house right away. And when I step into his door The Power of GOD came over him and he staggered like a drunk man backwards and he became drunk in The Spirit of GOD, And he kept saying: Oh My GOD, Oh my GOD, and His eyes lit up bright. And he told me to talk I begin to speak so long he had to tell me to stop and breathe. I kept saying how do I know all this stuff. Nothing but The Word of GOD was pouring out of my mouth and I was scared. Finally he said we cannot teach you, GOD will. And that scared me more. All of this is new to me. I thought this preacher is crazy. He said no Bible class no Sunday church is going to help you at all. Your church meetings will be on Tuesdays in close sessions among The D.D.s, The Th.D’s and pastors only. and don’t mean dime store universities and pay by mail order degrees, we speaking Harvard, Yale, Virginia Union Theological Universities. I told him in essence he was crazy. I am a black boy who grew up in the hood on The right side of The Track.

He told me to go ahead you will be back. When that Fire of Jeremiah start to a-blazing in your soul. He was right!
And over 44 years now since 1977 I’m still is on Fire and cannot hold The WORD in. For it blazes in my soul, Night and day even in my dreams It is Living and Quickening my soul constantly. And as the years has came and gone I have only met a few of us in “This Tribe” and every now and then I come across another like me. or another one just like you. I have met Quakers, and many people of all kinds of nations and they have approach me, strangers they were with tears in their eyes claiming I was their brother both male and female in Christ and no other words spoken. And we do not need to speak words to identify one another for The Fire burns Bright more Than The Sun shining in its strength.
I have read my entire Bible from front to back twice in two weeks and about 7 times in a year the whole, every dot and tittle. And wore out The New Testament alone on top of Reading the Whole Bible along. In my 1st year of salvation in 1977. And here it is 2022 and the number of reading the Bible as a whole is unknown only by GOD. And every written Word in the Book is stamp in my mind and soul
I know Biblical Roman history BibGreek history, all the popes and the church fathers for Over 44 years ASV, RSV, NIV 1984, KJV Oxford edition, NSRB copyright 1967, “ISBE” Hebrew and Greek Lexicons are stamp in to my Soul.
and these words are more than words written in a book.
“For you shall Love The LORD thy GOD with all The Soul, thy Mind and thy strength.

Faith with out Works is dead. Show me your works and I will show you my faith by my works

And by their fruits you will know them.

“And remember thy creator in the days of thy youth” for the days will come when you will have no desire for them “

For all of GODS true child must go through many pains to reach our destination for we all have great stories and we declare how we Got Over and just maybe it will be done at The Coronation Table.

For our Father is able to let us all have that. Attention He can make a thousand years in that Eternity as if it was one day if a Billion years could go on in Eternity and GOD can brings us back to Earth and it would seem we have only been away for 7 years.

For there is only one congregation of The GOD Almighty and That Congregation has been built By “The Salvation of GOD”.
For I am nothing but a mere servant to the true congregation of God for this is my Master’s command. And not the wishes of a mortal man or a mortal institution.

For I have been bought with a price and I do not own myself even my will is in submission unto To GOD and not unto myself. I speak concerning myself and not another.
