Why I think my conscience might be seared

I think a big reason why my conscience is seared might be because I’ve suppressed emotions for years and years like anger and rage. I think that might be a reason why my conscience is seared. I might have guilt that I might not be aware of. It might not be all spiritual.

Good morning Seeker, I'm not so sure I agree with you, and I know that you're not sure either; there's five 'mights' in your short post. From what I read, there's a lot of doubt going on in your head. Doubt is one of Satan's potent weapons, it's the antonym of faith. Satan persuades you that you're not good enough, he'll point out to you your shortcomings and try to convince you that you're a rubbishChristian, miles short of the mark, and that you've let yourself down and let God down. The reassurance you have from God is that your shortcomings don't matter in Romans 6:22-23, but read verse 23 first and then verse 22. You were heading towards death until God gave you the gift of life and that happened when you were set free from sin and became a slave to God to produce holiness. OK, you might take a look at yourself and think I don't see much holiness there, but that's not your problem. Firstly, any sin you have has no consequences, Jesus died and paid the consequences, and producing holiness isn't anything that you can conjure up, it's the working of the Holy Spirit with some help from you that produces that.

So please, ditch the negatives, other than to ask God to deal with them, and instead focus on the positives which is God and His son, Jesus. Worship and praise, chat to God in prayer, study your Bible and meditate and think about what you've just read, sumed up in John 15:7-8. Ask God to reveal Himself to you and His purpose for you. This is not about you and your shortcomings, it's about Him. God knew about your faults before, and still He chose and called you.

May God bless you and continue to transform you (you're a work in progress) and strengthen you to withstand Satan's attacks.

Have yourself a lovely and blessed Sabbath day.

I am not a believer maybe I should try to look to Jesus no matter what and hope He will save me.

Hi Seeker,

It's good that you've got an open mind and that you can see that your eternal destiny is at a fork in the road. Do you take a gamble for some ephemeral 'sin fun', chasing hollow materialism or getting on the hamster wheel of peer popularity, or alternatively saying yes to God's invitation to a 121, up close and personal relationship with the creator of the universe as well as the get out of hell card comes with that relationship. Another big benefit that comes with that relationship is the Holy Spirit, God is actually inside you guiding and protecting you; imagine that. God who's knowledge of the future is as clear as His recollection of the past, ie perfect, and whose power is without limit and who's love is even bigger, is guiding you each step and is working on your personal development, making you fit for Heaven.

Might I suggest that you read slowly and carefully John's gospel? This one focuses on what Jesus said more than His miracles. Pray before reading and after you've read each chapter, think and mull over what it's about, ask yourself what's Jesus saying to me? It's worth Googling afterwards (not before) 'explain John chapter ..' to find out what's theologians take on the passage.

If you'll do that, you'll soon have that lightbulb moment when you realise that accepting God's invitation and following Jesus really is a no brainer. Then you just need to say those words, Lord God, I'm sorry for all my sins, I want your forgiveness and I want to follow Jesus and accept you into my life, to take over - or words to that effect.

That will be a life changing decision, not only life but eternal life!

I'll pray for you Seeker, as I'm sure will many other TJers. If you want to chat more, I'm only a PM away.

May God lead you as you start your journey.

God bless you richly.

You may be Vulcan, live long and prosper.

All joking aside, the lack of having feeling or feelings often comes from a trauma of our younger age. Maybe you should talk with a counselor about it, make sure it is a Christian counselor.

Forgive me,but if you dont believe, why seek? First vital thing is we have ro believe thar God is.
Scripture states, unbelievers who do the Law by reason are lead to follow the Law written on thier hearts

True. Oh so true. But scripture also says,i believe in bro. hebrews,1. a person must believe that God is,and that he rewards those who seek affer him. 2. without faith it is impossible to please God.
The poster says he does not believe. Then why seek? I do not believe in leprechauns,so i will not be trying to find them.

In Scripture Jesus talks about the meeting of the king with the virtuous. And The Virtuous said to the king when did we see you. And the King said to them when you fed the hungry when you close the naked when you help the sick when you did it for the least of these you did it for me
