On Youtube Michelle Obama asks black church members to get out the vote

Why is it that Michelle Obama can ask BLACK church members to get out the vote but if a white candidate or his/her spouse asked WHITE church members to get out the vote it would be racist?

i take your point and i agree ..i will even say that though i like michelle the black vote itself can be considerd a racist term ..i believe in equality for all people but i believe that voting should be color blind .

She is encouraging the members to vote because it is quite known for a lot of black people to not vote at all (I am a young black woman).

I'm perfectly ok with any candidate encouraging people to vote. It's when someone starts specifying a specific ethnicity to vote when I start becoming concerned. If a certain ethnicy is not voting, I want to know why, and how to encourage them to vote for their choice in candidate, not necessarily the one trying to encourage them to vote.
