We are not perfect, there's no getting away from that, and GOD realizes that fact.

But what GOD does expect from us all is to at least try, with all our might meaning the very best we can do & to continue on trying, never-ever giving up. {Deuteronomy 6:5, Mark 12:30 & 12:33, Luke 10:27, Deuteronomy 4:29} And this means to try with all our might not to SIN!

Just because we see so & so sinning, getting away with it & making progress - doesn't mean that it's OK - it is still not righteous. These people that live their lives in sin are usually very unhappy & end up never -or- not really knowing GOD for who HE really is. {Ezekiel 3:18-19, James 4:1-17, Ephesians 4:17-32}

And just because we may see so & so 'hardly ever' sin, doesn't mean when he/she does sin it's OK, for a sin is still a sin, no matter what. {Ezekiel 3:20-21, James 4:1-17, Ephesians 4:17-32}

Yes Jesus did die for us all, in hope that we would be saved. And His death was the ransom sacrifice for us all - for our sins.

This doesn't mean that it's OK to go out into the world and sin just because you might feel the need to. NO! Heaven forbid! That would be like saying that Jesus' teachings and His sacrifice was for nothing.

Some times, though we do sin by accident, but what's so important to remember is NOT TO SIN ! Why? Because we are imperfect? Yes!

But also, because the more we sin the more we are trapped into the prison of sin, meaning bad habits are being formed - and bad habits are hard to break.

And the more we do not sin, the more good & righteous habits are being formed & the more holy we become.

Even if; "we are pressed on every side by troubles, but not crushed and broken. We are perplexed because we don't know why things happen as they do, but we don't give up and quit." {2 Corinthians 4:8}

"We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going." {2 Corinthians 4:9}

So when Jesus does come for us, He will find us doing the things that He had asked us to do. He will find us living according tho GOD'S Rules & Regulations. The work we were meant to do.

Concentrate on righteousness & do your very, very best not to sin, so that you won't form more & more bad habits, but instead making good & righteous habits.

This is what it means to be strong & to stand firm with all our might, until the end. {Matthew 10:22}

Go to Church & to the Congregation, hang around with people that you know want to Worship & Serve The Almighty GOD. Get to know them & share what you have learned & listen to what they have learned. {2 Peter 1:20, Proverbs 3:5} *genesis!

Amen and Amen

The best, thought out piece I've read. All glory to God.
You hit the nail, right on point. These are principles we must follow everyday.

Sister you have me looking into the mirror, I thank God I'm not where I use to be,
and I praise him for where he's taking me.

Yes some of us are still hanging out, with our foul mouth, lusting, fornicating, blaspheming, R rated movie watching friends and think its okay. That they're strong enough because they know the word.

Well birds of a feather flock together, either you lead them or they lead you into compromise.
Jesus was perfect, sinless he had the power to overcome temptation, thats why he could associate himself with prostitutes and thieves.

If you know you're not strong in your faith, its time you cut some friends loose and build a relationship with those who can lead you into a deeper walk with God. I keep their numbers have no problem having dinner with them, how else will they know the truth.
There must be a transformation, anyone can learn bible verses, debate the bible .
But if there's no change in your attitude, you witnessing to them is nothing.
For you never set the bar for them.

Lord reveal to me any habits that I have overlooked, no matter how small. Cast them down and renew me right now.

We need God's grace and power to lift us out of the ditch of sin. We can and, of course, must repent, but the Lord Jesus is the One who paid the price for us.

"But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us in the heavenly realms with him in Christ Jesus." (Eph 2:4-6)

Amen Sister!

As long as they are hanging around {following} us & not us hanging around {following} them.

Meaning - they willing to participate in the Godly things we do & we are NOT participating in the ungodly things that they do.

Psalms 1:1 Oh, the joys of those who DO NOT follow evil men's advice, who DO NOT hang around with sinners, scoffing at the things of GOD:

I agree friends, now that I have dedicated myself more fully to God over the last several years, I feel more afraid than ever whenever I realise I've just sinned, and I make sure I repent or desire to improve myself. It is hard the struggle not to sin (-in my case we're talking about matters of the heart particularly, which are so important to God as He looks at the heart, such as my battle over bitterness, unforgiveness, and on a recent occasion judging & condemning others' sin. I believe I have repented of these in Jesus' name, and assuredly God works daily on any pride that might present itself in me) so now I'm always seeking knowledge about these matters. God is gracious. Thankyou Lord for dying for my sins.

Like I said before, we are not perfect, there's no getting away from that, and GOD realizes that fact.

What you are feeling is so normal, don't worry you will change.

Reading your words reminded me of me.

Changing from being worldly to being holy over night is or can be a very imposable task to do.

Most of us {I do believe} will not be able to change from our bad habits over night.

It's true, bad habits are hard to break, no matter how much we really want to change.

But never let this get you down & never ever give up just because you think you can never change.

Because in good time you will, and if you give up, you most definitely wont change.

I too, use to go through my own battles over bitterness, unforgiven, and a occasion judging & condemning others of their sins.

But I can honestly say I have changed through the years since 1999 when I've except The Almighty GOD & Christ Jesus into my life.

I find I no longer condemn others of their sins, for I have learned how wrong that is & how it's not for me to condemn anyone.

And forgiving others has come be a breeze most of the time, but I will admit there are still times when I fear that I might have a hard time doing so - then I go to The Almighty - and all of a sudden, I understand and find myself being able to forgive.

You will see, maybe not overnight, but you will in time.

Right now enjoy the fact that you have such a strong zest & love for Jesus Christ & The Almighty God.

Always stay close to The Almighty GOD & HIS Word {HIS Son Jesus Christ}.

And here's a figure of speech for you - 'Bible Study like you don't have time for anything else' - {and there's nothing wrong in studying solo either}.

Keep on being firm with yourself, never ever stop trying to do it right,
for this only way we can drown out our bad habits - & when it feels like you're to week to get through it - go straight to GOD, HE will give you understanding & with this understanding you will gain the strength you need.

GOD will never let you down if you truly love HIM!

And when the world seems to be against you, always remember, the world was against Jesus, too.

It is important to live a holy life because we are commanded to be holy as God is holy. When we sin we not only spurn the grace of God but we grieve the Holy Spirit.

Re: Why its so important to not sin

Remember the childrens' story of The Little Engine that Could? As I recall the story line, it began with the little engine struggling up the hill saying "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.". He soldiered on, inching his way along on a trek that was seeming to take forever and threatened to drain away all his energy.

As he labored to climb the hill, as he continued on in the hope of success, he found the energy to fight the good fight and keep on keeping on. He found new strength developing, and eventually, "I think I can" became "I knew I could."

It's the same with us. When we come to Christ and His Spirit comes upon us, we begin the process of becoming Christlike. And after we've soldiered on a bit under our own effort, we find our energy flagging and we begin to fear failure. But, when we finally admit that we've reached the limit of our own resources, the Holy Spirit moves in and begins to pour His power into our spiritual fuel tank. Then our little engine finds itself being energized anew as we struggle on toward the prize of eternity with Him.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Phil 4:13)

For the Child of God the Holy Spirit indwells them. He never leaves us or forsakes us. It is through our weakness that His strength is made perfect. It is no I but His Spirit that works through me enabling me to live for Him.

Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

2Cr 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

It is when we try to do things ourselves(in the flesh) that we fall on our face. We come to Christ recognizing that we without Him are nothing and look to Him for our strength. We are enabled when place our confidence not in ourselves but in the ability of our awesome Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen, Jonah!

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

There is no excuse for sin, there are no unavoidable sins. If we sin, we shouldn't try to make excuses, we must ask for forgiveness.

In Yahweh's Love and Truth,

Christ's Serf

Christ knows that we are still in the flesh.

1Jo 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

lettheredeemed:

Romans 8:8-9 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

Though Paul uses the phrase "in the flesh" in both of these passages, he is obviously talking about different things. Would you agree? Of course we reside in a fleshly body, we're not supposed to cooperate with that fleshly nature. Do you agree?

Do you think that it is impossible for a Christian to stop sinning even if the Holy Spirit is helping them?

In Yahweh's Love and Truth,

Christ's Serf

Well, GOD did say we are to be Holy as HE is Holy {Leviticus 11:44, Leviticus 19:2, Leviticus 20:7 & 26, Matthew 5:48, 1 Peter 1:16}.

But do not worry, {Matthew 6:25} as long as you try always to do your best to do what is right in the eyes of our ALMIGHTY FATHER.

And if you fail, while trying - GOD knows you tried.

This is where prayer comes in. Repenting & asking GOD to forgive us of our sin/sins we have done.

Don't ever give up on trying!

If ever there comes a time that you may feel to week or out of control {for what ever reason in may be} always remember to ask GOD to pour out HIS Holy Spirit upon you, to guide you & stengthen you.

And always ask: "In The Name Of Jesus Christ, Your Only Begotten Son, I Come To THE In Prayer. . ."{John 14:13-14, John 15:16, John 16:23-24,26}

For Jesus said all things are possible through GOD. {Matthew 19:26}

Be happy that you do not approve of sin, for our Heavenly Father does not approve of sin neither.

And remember too, though it is a good thing to hate sin, we must never hate the person that sins. {Matthew 5:43-48}

Always remember we can be stronger than temptation, if we put our minds to it.

That is, if we truly love The Almighty GOD & Christ Jesus & know what is right/wrong & want to do it right in GOD'S eyes.

Bottom line is; If we really & truly want to, we can turn from our wrong, worldly & wicked ways.

Not over night, perhaps. But as long as we keep trying. Being determine.

And never ever giving up. Endure to the end! {Matthew 10:22}

For practice can make perfect, through GOD. And bad habits can die! As long as you remain firm with yourself & true to GOD.

Plus, self-discipline is not as hard to do - as one may think or say! {Matthew 19:26}

The ability not to sin depends on the Holy Spirit an our willingness to yeild to Him. It is God desire that we do not sin. You are correct we are called to walk in the Spirit and to be holy.

1Jo 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
