My intentions are good. I try to be a kind and thoughtful person. I am polite and well-mannered.

So why am I so badly misunderstood?

It just seems so unfair to me!

Grace and Peace to you on this blesseth Sunday.

If the world hates you, you should realize that it hated me before you. 19If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. But because you do not belong to the world and I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you. John 15:18-19

Jesus was misunderstood for every good deed he did, unlike us he is perfect and without sin.

Sometimes in our daily lives we are comfronted with people who mis judge our intensions, we get offended without looking at ourselves to see why, the other person would think that.
Should we get upset ..... No, God knows our hearts and only He can judge us.
He called us to walk in love with each other, not everyone will receive it.

You should pray about the situation, so that God can reveal to you where the mis-communication happened. If the revelation is that you were wrong with your delivery, then you must apologize.

Continue walking in love and God would bless you.

Thank you for your advice. I will try to pray about it and see if anything happens.

who is misunderstanding you so badly? us? the world? your fam? who

It is just a sad fact of my life that I can never do the right thing, despite trying so hard.

So in answer to your question Peeps, the answer is everybody, although in reality that is not true, it just feels like it is everybody!!!

Sorry if that sounds like a pity party!

I think sadeyes, we have all forgotten or we really don't know how to love each other, as God loves us. It's something I am asking God to help me with at the moment.

You seem like me in a lot ways, if I am nice then everyone likes me, but I am not a doormat. I do love people, but if I feel its not right or I feel people use me, I will say so. When I discipline people at work, (work related stuff) then those people don't like me either, so I keep quiet now.

Now when I am in a bad mood I like to be left alone for a while, to get over it. I have God in my life now and He helps me through those bad and moody times I get in. But some people just don't understand that and they like to irritate me. I don't know what it is with people sometimes, they seem to like to rub me up the wrong way, just to see me get annoyed.

Well, since God has come into my life, I have changed a lot and asked Him to help me with that. I am still a long way to go though, as I do slip up from time to time.

So answering your question, the world doesn't know how to really love people. But with God in your life, of course this can change, if one wants to.

1Jo 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Ask God to help you with this. Your problem may be different to mine, but God will give you the correct answers, because He knows your heart.

Thanks for your kind post.

It is interesting and yet hurtful how people can interpret your actions and words. Something totally innocent becomes something so negative and big!

I learnt at a very young age that I physically could not lie - my face is such a give-away!!!!!

However, I am caught up in a situation here with somebody who lives near to me who has accused me of lying. It is my word against hers and yet I know 110% that I did not lie! I would not lie and this allegation has become very big and painful for me.

I suppose I need to forgive her and yet that won't stop the situation that has evolved as a result of her false allegation. What has evolved is totally out of my control now!!!

Yes, if I can say, this is the most difficult part in being a Christian. Forgiving others, it's not easy when you know they are wrong, but it does get easier the more you allow God to change you.

But saying that, our fleshly nature, doesn't want to forgive, but God's spirit does.

How I dealt with it, I just say to myself, "God knows their hearts and He knows the truth"

Another thing which peope told me, if your friend see's Jesus shining from you, being loving and forgiving. She might want Jesus in her life too.

Take care and God bless.

Thanks for your advice. The bad news is that I have never found forgiving people easy - but actually, who does?

A friend of mine recently said that he thinks that I find it easy to forgive others, but I think that I am like everybody else.

If the act that requires forgiveness is small, then it is much easier to forgive than when the act is something bigger, like the act that this lady has done to me.

This person has rejected me based on a lie and that hurts so much.

I liked the thought in your post that states that God knows the truth. He does and he knows that I have not lied to this person.

Hi Sadeyes,

I just wanted to share something that has helped me with forgiveness. I heard a teaching on this and have used it numerous times in my own life as well as sharing it with others. When Jesus died for us He did not approve of any of our sins and yet forgave them all. When we choose to forgive people in essence what we are doing is choosing to release the situation to God and therefore, free His hands and Spirit to work in our lives, the lives of the people involved and the situation. Many times we mistake forgiveness with approval and it is not that at all. It is simply choosing to give the situation and person to the One with whom it belongs. I pray this helps you as it has me many times.

Hi and thanks for the post.

Are you therefore saying that if we don't forgive, then God can not work in our lives?

dearest sister

I was waiting for this question to come up.

Jesus told us if we do not forgive others then He cannot forgive us.

Forgiveness is an act of our will. We choose to forgive the person which frees us and enables us to carry on with our good relationship with Jesus.

Matthew 6

14-15"In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can't get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God's part.

The Lord's prayer also says forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

There are some threads around on forgiveness too sister.

God bless.

"I was waiting for this question to come up."

from me?????? - Now that is embarrassing!!!!!!!

:embarasse

Now why should that be embarrassing sister. You are asking all the right questions to help you grow in your walk with Jesus. I just knew that you would need the answer to this very important question. Forgiveness can be such a big issue if one does not know the right way to respond.

I admire you for wanting to know these important answers and being free to ask us for help.

This is such a blessing to see.

Feel free to ask us questions. We have told you that we are here to help you sweet sister.

God bless

Love in Christ  :rainbow: :rose:

Have you read my last post (no. 96) in my thread Father's love letter?

If not, this response will not make sense to you!!!!

Thanks for the advice on forgiveness - only 999,997 pieces of the jig-saw to go!!!!
LoL

Well done sister Yep I think that was the one where you said you had found 2 pieces of the jigsaw and had to find another 999,998. Now you have found another piece of the puzzle yahoo.

God is guiding you even now to asking the right questions to help you understand and grow. I am excited for you too.

You are very welcome for the advice. When one is new to the faith they need help to enable them to live right and get to know a personal relationship with Jesus in their own faith.

God bless

Love in Christ  :rainbow: :rose:
