Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For [it is] time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12

In Old Testament times, many of the Jewish people were either farmers or familiar with the practices in agriculture. In today's verse, the prophet Hosea uses word pictures the people of that time and place would have understood to give them specific instruction as to how they were to prepare themselves to approach the God they had neglected for so long.

While far fewer people today know much about the world of agriculture, Hosea's message is still important. It simply means that all believers should take the time to earnestly seek God and ask Him to reveal to them any areas of their lives where they've neglected Him.

There's not a man of God alive who doesn't have some area of his life in Christ that needs growth. The good news is that God has promised to make that growth happen if you simply prepare your heart to receive what He has for you. You must also seek Him in prayer and Bible reading until He shows you what area He wants to grow in you.

Prayer: Father in heaven, thank You for faithfully hearing me when I ask You to show me any area of my life in which I've neglected You.
