Jehoshaphat said, Is there not another prophet of the Lord here whom we may ask? 1 Kings 22:7 AMPC

King Jehoshaphat followed God. He worked to eliminate idol worship in Judah. Israel’s king, Ahab, wasn’t interested in following God. Ahab asked Jehoshaphat to help him reclaim land from a foreign nation. Jehoshaphat offered to help, but also wanted to know what God said.

False prophets told Ahab that God would give him the land. Jehoshaphat asked for a second opinion. That opinion was a true prophet’s dire warnings about Ahab’s plan.

Jehoshaphat should have listened. The land was not reclaimed. King Ahab was killed.

If you’re a dad, you’ll find yourself in need of wisdom. You can turn to your friends and see if their second opinion adds clarity, but it’s the wisdom of God that totally transforms your ability to make a good choice.

Ahab didn’t care what God thought. Jehoshaphat was talked into going against the wisdom of God. You get to consider a better choice. Psalm 199:105 (AMPC) Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Opinion polls, peer pressure, and a misplaced sense of obligation can never make up for a dad’s willingness to boldly follow God.

Prayer: Dear God, shine a spotlight on my next step. May I be wise enough to step within the brilliant gleam of Your leading.

I could not believe that King Jehoshaphat let King Ahab talk him into that scenario and change clothes with him. when i first read that years ago.
Then I got to know pastors and Preachers.

PS. I thought it was so funny, when they chase Him and He cried out! I guess the Spirit of God illuminated it. LOL that is what he get. God gave him a little mercy. for lesson. been there.

Can you imagine those "War Horses" pulling those War Chariots! Hoof's pounding the earth, Horses snorting, teeth ready to snatch "King Jehoshaphat" off of his chariot "The 32 Chariot Commanders" Those would be like the "Special Forces" of our Time. Just like Kings David's "Mighty Men of Valor"

Mine anger is kindled against the shepherds, And I will punish the he-goats; For the LORD of hosts hath remembered His flock the house of Judah, And maketh them as His majestic horse in the battle.

According to other translations following the Masoretic text more closely, Jashobeam is the head of "thirty" or "chief officers" of David but not even part of the Three. Ishbaal is described as being the leader and is said to have killed 800 men in a single day! "King David's Mighty Men of valor" now you see why i laughed at " King Jehoshaphat" His behind was scared!!!!! He cried out in terror!

Sometimes people would see me reading the Bible in public, and i would burst out laughing! They would look at me and say what are you reading, I would say "the Bible" and they would reply: and laughing like that? I would say; yea! The Bible is living and it makes me, come alive, The Holy Spirit of God Takes me there, in living color. I love it. yes i do. and i am not ashamed to proclaim that I do. I love it!
